Chapter Three

"To be fully seen by somebody, then, and be loved anyhow–this is a human offering that can border on miraculous."

"I'm going up now mum," Emmett whispered. I smiled and nodded letting him go. Emmett is getting ready to give a toast. "Excuse me. Is this on? Hello? Umm, I'd like to propose a toast. To my new sister. Bella, I hope you've gotten enough sleep these last 18 years. 'Cause you won't be getting any more for a while." He laughs loudly, and I am pissing myself laughing as I told him to say that, Bebe turns to me and throws some balled napkins at me. Everyone else just looked uncomfortable.

Next was Jessica, as she walks over to the microphone, and she smiles to everyone. "Well, Bella was just like everybody else, totally mesmerized by Edward. Or "The Hair," as I call him. And then, suddenly, Edward is all about Bella. Even though she's not the captain of the volleyball team." Jessica laughs. "I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. Or the president of the student council." She says and I bite my bottom lip annoyed.

Next came Charlie. "Edward will be a good husband. I know this because I'm a cop. I know things. Like how to hunt somebody to the ends of the Earth." Charlie says, but everyone laughs not understanding that he was being serious. "And I know how to use a gun."

"Now that you're my sister, you'll have to get over your aversion to fashion." Alice started hers off, as I shook my head at her. "Skirts, heels, handbags."

"Go to sleep, my love. Go to sleep. When you wake you'll see me." Renee sings and I smile as Bebe looks embarrassed but smiling at her mother. I smiled as Esme now stood in front of the microphone giving Renee a hug and letting her leave.

"I'd like to thank Renée and Charlie for bringing such a wonderful person into the world and into our lives. We will cherish and protect her forever." Esme states a soft smile on her face.

I smiled as Edward walks over and stares directly at Bebe. "It's an extraordinary thing to meet someone who you can bare your soul to. And who will accept you for what you are. I've been waiting, what seems like a very long time, to get beyond what I am. And with Bella, I feel like I can finally begin. So I'd like to propose a toast to my beautiful bride. No measure of time with you will be long enough. But let's start with forever."

Now it was my turn and as I walked up the stairs, I smiled to everyone as I stood in front of the microphone. "Before I get all sappy and make some people cry, I just want to say congratulation to both Edward and Bella, I'm so happy that you two found each other." I said first and everyone raised their glasses after I said that. "Now, I'm gonna get sappy" I giggled, everyone else laughing. "I remember the first day the pair of them first saw each other, Bebe instantly fell in a trance over Edward, and from that point on I knew they would end up together," I stated smiling at the memory. "But sadly Edward has poor social skills when it comes to pretty girls and he made Bebe think he hated her, how wrong she was, he was just nervous around my bestie," I chuckled and everyone else laughing, I could even see Bebe holding back a giggle. "And I also remember when both Bebe and I were little, we would always talk about our future, and we would always come back to the fact we wanted to live right next door to each other," I said softly, a smile gracing my face. "All we could talk about is having our kids grow together and be best friends as well, and I always knew in my heart Bebe would never let me down, and she knew I would never let her down, so I'm here to tell you Bebe, that we kept our promise all those years ago," I said as my voice quivered slightly. "Dang it I'm gonna cry," I whimpered, pouting even the audience was going to cry. "Bebe come recite our promise with me," I ordered, Bebe quickly got up and scurried over to me. She came over and held both my hands both of us smiling with tears in our eyes.

"I promise to love you unconditionally. Through every high, every low, every valley, every peak; I will love you regardless of what is or has happened between us because you are my best friend and I will always love you! I promise to always hold your hand. Whether it's a family emergency, a breakup, or just a really bad day I promise to always hold your hand and listen to you cry, yell, vent, maybe even watch you throw your phone against the wall and to be okay with it. I promise to support you in all you do. As long as what you're doing isn't illegal or something, I promise I'll stand by you every step of the way. I will be your backbone, I will speak when you can't, I will fight for you always." We recited, our continuous years from when we were younger floating through our heads. We always recited this promise when we were little, so we wouldn't forget each other.

"I love you Kara," Bebe whispered as we hugged each other tightly.

"I love you too," I whimpered, my body shaking as I sobbed silently. I looked around as everyone clapped, Edward soon came over and hugged me too.

"I promise to keep her safe mum," Edward whispered to me and I nodded, thankful of him. Edward let me go and I turned smiling at everyone.

"Okay now dance!" I ordered and everyone laughed before getting onto the dance floor. I walked off the stage and straight to Carlisle. "I don't think I can keep up this charade anymore," I whimpered, Carlisle nodded before pulling me into a tight hug. "I love you."

"I love you too, my darling," Carlisle whispered, as he pulled me to the house, getting me away from everyone so I could relax. As we got to his office my phone started to ring, I walked over seeing the millions of messages and missed calls reflecting off my screen.

"Hello," I answered.

"Oh thank god you answered aunty Lenny, um we may be a bit early, Bec's saw people still at your home, we don't know what to do?" Hope said.

"Just wait and I'll flick you a text when everyone is gone, okay," I said.

"Okay see you soon Aunty Lenny," Hope said and we both hung up. I shook my head and let my shoulders fall.

"I don't think I can do this anymore," I groaned, Carlisle pulling me close. "How am I meant to tell everyone, that Nik and Elijah are staked, that I have a niece and family that are going to be staying here, or the fact that I'm also pregnant." Carlisle smiled as the magic lifted off myself and he placed a hand on my swollen stomach, the feelings in his eyes shining.

"But I'm glad we will have her," Carlisle whispered. I smiled to as I looked down to his hand and placed my own on his.
