Tangled Strings (sequel to Red Strings)

Chapter 31

"They have an interview!" Sylvana point out which only makes me laugh harder.  I walk over to my boyfriend and ruffle his hair which makes another large chunk of flour fall. Luke pulls me close to him and before I can resist gives me a long peck, he wipes my chin off with his thumb, and I copy the action. 

"How do you feel?" I ask putting the camera in his face "I feel like I'm a cookie," he replies getting a gleam in his eyes "I feel chalky, I fe-" before he can finish the next sentence he grabs my camera and flips in around on me to capture Ashton and Calum pouring flour on my head. 

"Are you serious!" I scream covering my eyes I grab some flour off the top of my head and flick it at Natalie who is bent over in a fit of giggles. "This is just a mess now," Ashton states looking at what a reck the kitchens in. "The cookies are done!" Natalie realizes.         

Natalie's POV

"Oh look at how yummy these look!" Skyler exclaimed pointing the camera at the cookies.  "Alright now we're gonna just put these to cool...." she said getting out a spatula to start trying to put them onto the cooling rack.  

I grabbed one off the rack, and Skyler pointed the camera at me before saying "Careful, they're hot!"  I looked up before saying "Fire cannot kill a dragon."  Skyler rolled her eyes before I immediately put the cookie in my mouth to prove a point.  And like Skyler said, they were hot.  

"Is your mouth on fire yet?" Skyler asked sarcastically and I stuck my tongue out before saying with an open mouth "I never said that the dragon can get burned by fire!"  She laughed as I grabbed some cold water and drinking some.  "Was the cookie good though?" she asked and I nodded.  

Once we wrapped up filming the boys said goodbye and headed off to some interviews, we then began to clean up.  "God this whole thing went crazy," Skyler commented as we continued to sweep away some of the leftover flour.  "I'm gonna go and shower, I'll let this upload," Skyler said before going upstairs.

"What time do the boys want us over at the concert venue?" Sylvana asked as we finally put some things away.  "Um, I'm pretty sure they want us there around 8-ish, the concert starts closer to 9." I said as I put the whisk away and finally began to make some coffee, while grabbing a cookie and chewing on it.

"Do you think you and Calum would get back together?" Sylvana asks me as the coffee machine is whirring.  I shrugged before I let out a sigh.  "I really don't know, I mean....it's kinda up in the air ya know?" I said biting my lip.  "Well just as a thought, I think you two should get back together.  You guys were pretty cute." Sylvana mentioned casually before winking at me.  

I laughed and said "Well I guess I'll figure it out.  I mean, I've been in my classes for a bit, and they're not bad, but still it's just now I don't even know if I WANT to continue school and it seems like my mom is really about me getting a degree and all but now....I don't know anymore, and seeing what the boys have done, especially after singing with Vic and him telling me I was talented....it's just kinda interesting ya know?" 

Sylvana listened intently and then said "Well Nat honestly you can't make everyone happy, epsecially cause the first person you have to make happy is you.  So just stick the uni, and if the singing really seems like the way to go....maybe you should go after it."

"Natalie Allison Lane you better be fucking ready!" Skyler screeched up the stairs as I added the last touch of lip gloss before grabbing a clutch and making sure everything was in it before running down the stairs, combat boots in hand.  "Alright do I look decent?" I ask out of breath.  

Skyler smiled and said "You look pretty!" "That's why I took forever alright!" I explained as I slipped on my boots.  I was wearing a casual polka dot dress with a fitted bodice and loose skirt.  My hair was in it's usual curly state, and I had done a natural palatte for my eyes, and I flicked back some of my hair before saying "Ready to go?"

We arrived at the venue, all sorts of fans screaming outside as we pulled into a closed off area, and the fans recognized Skyler immediately and started screaming even louder, as they started taking pictures.  "Oh wow." Sylvana said shocked at all the attention that was coming to the car. Thankfully we got past them, and parked to the door for backstage.

"Thank God we got past all that!" I sighed in relief as we got out of the car and a security guard opened the door and we went in.  "Alright so we're backstage right now at our lovely bands concert, now ladies which song is your favourite?" Skyler asks holding her camera before panning it to us.  Sylvana blushed but then said "I love all of them!" "Yes, yes, very good answer Sylvana, Natalie what about you?" Skyler asks and I grin before saying "Out of My Limit all the way." 

"YOU'RE JUST A LITTLE BIT OUT OF MY LIMIT!" Skyler began to sing before she started skipping down the hall and then motioned for me to continue.  "It's been two years now, haven't even seen the best of meeeeeee!" I sung back smiling before suddenly Ashton stepped out of the dressing room up ahead, shirt off and said "What the hell?"

Skyler pointed the camera at him and said "Well well looks like we found the band!  Say hi Ashton!" "Hi!" Ashton says before we went and gave the boys their last good luck before they went onstage.  

"Good luck," I whispered to Calum as he pulled me into a tight hug and he kissed the top of my head.  "Can we maybe talk later?" Calum whispered and I froze.  I had to remind myself that Calum and I had slept together, even though we weren't even together and I wanted desperately wanted to get back with him, but Lord knows what would stop us this time.  Fans?  Management?

"Yeah, yeah...." I said biting my lip before they went off and we followed them to the side of the stage.  Suddenly the lights turned down and the fans started screaming and the boys looked at each other before heading on.
