In the time since she had been dropped off to Dragonstone, Viserys had always kept a close eye on the girl who had no more of a backstory than a bastard Targaryen. He came to love her in his own way, he came to understand that she was more important than his mother let on. He guided her, tried to ensure the best for her; and he favoured her.

There was no awaking the dragon if she was around, no raised fists or voices. He was sweet, like the brother of their childhood. Daenerys could see the bond between them, and she would question it. Why is the bastard treated better than his true sister? Rhaenar had a way of soothing her too, of letting her know she was no better than Daenerys, but simply understanding of their brother's anger. She supposed it was one of Rhaenar's many talents, having a good sense of judgement towards people. She was balanced, and head sure - it was why training was easy for her.

The sword felt heavy in Rhaenar's hand, well balanced when ready to strike, but a bearing weight in the small fist that remained enclosed around it. The blade threatened to slice at the skin that swallowed, it pale in colour enough to see the blue of the veins. Her indigo eyes glared daringly towards the man that sat on the opposite end of her, the sick grin that had twisted angelic features held malice towards him. "Do you see, Magister Illyrio? How dangerous my sweet sister is? How threatening she can be?" Viserys teased at the old man, the two so similar in looks that they could have passed for twins. "Isn't she impressive? A fine specimen for Queen."

Rhaenar beamed at her only brother, dropping the sword from the throat of the Magister before plunging it into the malleable soil and joining at her brother's side. Viserys kept a strong watch over her, keeping her from slipping out behind him. All her life she had wanted to protect her family, to be the fighter that they needed, and Viserys was more than willing to let her. Who was going to protect them if it wasn't for she? No one.

She was the one he wanted to marry when he assumed the throne; though only half Targaryen, she had more of the dragon's blood in her than his own sister. Rhaenar was a beautiful specimen of his line, it was only right that she would be the one to take his side.

"Agreed, Your Grace; Princess Rhaenar is a fine beauty, impressive indeed." Magister admitted, bowing his head at the prize that was the older of the two Targaryen girls. She blinked, bowing her own head for a hover of a second before standing to, glancing at her younger sister. Daenerys had been softer than the others, easily manipulated by Viserys who commanded devotion. "She will more than guarantee you a solid match with a potential army."
