Magnus closes his eyes as alec softly kisses his inner thigh and when he looks at him, alec is looking at him through his eye lashes, innocently even though his actions are anything but innocent. Alec slowly moves up magnus's chest, stopping only to leave a trail of small love bites when there is a knock on their bedroom door.
"By the angel." Alec grumbles, getting off the bed and pulling on a pair of washed out gray sweatpants from the floor and magnus pulls the cover over his hips. "What the he....." Alec says, opening the door. "Hello, magdaline." He says, picking up their daughter. "What's the matter?"
"There is a monster in my closet."
Alec looks at Magnus over magdaline's head and after a quick scan of the loft, Magnus shakes his head, indicating he didn't find anything.
"Well." Alec says, setting magdaline on their bed and picking up his stele and starting to activate a rune. "I am going to activate my stealth rune."
"Because papa says you are clumsy right." Magdaline sniffles.
"No, so we can sneak up on it." The as he activates another rune, he says, "then I am going to activate my strength rune so that i can beat the monster and protect you." He says, picking Magdaline up and swinging her onto his shoulders as they walk out of the bedroom, her giggling and holding on to alecs neck.

"Did you beat the monster in the closet?" Magnus asks when Alec walks back into their bedroom.
"Yep." Alec says, pulling his pants off and sliding into bed. "She gave me a kiss on the cheek and said I was her hero." He says, smiling .
Magnus smiles at his boyfriend and says, "who would've ever thought the powerful warrior, Alexander Lightwood, head of the New York institute would smile like that just from chasing a monster from his daughters closet."
"I would give it all up just to chase monsters from her closet." He says, kissing Magnus, pulling him close as they both fall asleep in the safety of their arms.
