Ch. 8 Trust

Harper POV
I wonder did Jacob's plan ever work on Rachel and Danny. I haven't heard anything from him.

Harper: Jacob!! Baby, can you come here?

Jacob comes to the kitchen.

Jacob: Whats up baby?
Harper: How did your plan with Rachel and Danny go?
Jacob: Oh I forgot to tell you. It was interesting.
Harper: What happened?
Jacob: Well, when we did our stretches before we ran they were flexing each other.
Harper: Hahaha. What?
Jacob: I know it's funny. Rachel kept showing off her ass to him and Danny showed off his muscles.
Harper: Oh Rachel. Hahaha.

We both had to take a minute to laugh.

Harper: Is that all that happened?
Jacob: No. There's more. I talked with Rachel about them flexing at each other. And she was in denial as always. And she still couldn't get over how he called her Miss Tipsy.
Harper: If I was in her shoes, I would be mad too, but not that mad.
Jacob: Exactly. And she called him Richie Rich.

I just shake my head in disappointment.

Harper: Why did she have to do that?
Jacob: I have no idea. But after that we went to the gym and did some lifts. And Danny and I had a talk. He said he felt bad for what he called Rachel and he wants to apologize and make it up to her.
Harper: Woah. He's being bold.
Jacob: Oh I know. He was trying to figure out why Rachel is the way she is.
Harper: Did you tell him?
Jacob: I just told him that she doesn't hate you. She just has trust issues and that she has a very bad past. And that he has to work to earn her trust.
Harper: That is true because the only people she is around with the most is you, me, and my parents.
Jacob: Yep.

Then, we hear the doorbell ring.

Harper: Were you expecting someone?
Jacob: Yeah. I was expecting Danny to come over.

Jacob POV
I go to answer the door and it's Danny.

Jacob: Hey man.
Danny: Hey dude.
Jacob: Come on in.

He comes in and we go to where Harper is at.

Harper: Hi Danny.
Danny: Hi Harper. Nice to see you again.
Harper: You too. What brings you by?

Danny POV
Trust me, I'm here for nothing related to fitness.

Danny: Umm...I need to talk to you guys about Rachel.
Harper: Okay. Let's sit down.

So we go to the living room and sat down.

Jacob: What about Rachel?

Why am I so nervous to talk about her to them?

Danny: Well, a couple of days I....I mean...Rachel and I hung out.

Harper POV
Did my ears hear correctly?

Jacob: Really?
Danny: Yeah.
Jacob: Dude that's awesome.
Danny: Wait, really?
Harper: Yes. She's starting to trust you.
Danny: So I didn't do anything wrong.
Jacob: What did you guys do?
Danny: We went to iSky, an indoor skydiving place and got some pizza. We had a blast. I've never seen her smile so much.
Harper: Oh that's awesome.
Jacob: That's a good thing man. Keep doing what you do.
Harper: Yeah because she was literally talking to me how much fun she had with you.
Jacob: When?
Harper: About a few hours ago. She told me she hasn't had that much fun in so long. And you didn't even take advantage of her or anything.

Danny POV
Wow. I've must have done something right.

Danny: So she really must have had a good time.
Jacob: I don't know what you did, but keep up the good work and don't go too hard on her.
Danny: I want to see her again.
Harper: How about this? Tomorrow night we are going to Top Golf and Harper are gonna be with us. You can see her there.
Danny: Will she be okay with it?
Jacob: She has to be. It seems like she's starting to get comfortable with you.

I mean come on. Who wouldn't want to see this woman again after having an amazing day like that?

Danny: Okay. I'll be there.
Jacob: Great you can meet us there at 7:00.
Danny: Thanks man. Thank you guys.
Harper: Oh no thank you for getting Rachel out of her comfort zone.
