Broken but not unfixable

3rd Person POV

Peter was having a hard day. Everyone seemed out to get him especially after the shit show that was the mission so he was just trying to relax, even though he couldn't get rid of the worry since may has seemed sick recently his phone rang shaking him out of the negative thoughts filling his head  "hello is this Mr Parker?" "Yes" "I'm sorry to tell you this but your aunt has been diagnosed with a rare disease after collapsing at work, her life expectancy is unknown but we don't believe she has much longer, once again my sincerest apologies but I must be going now" then they hung up, Peter just stood there frozen.

 Peter rushed to the common room of the tower more than aware that the other's were still trying to deal with what happened on the mission of Steve more than the others as he almost found bucky. Peter walked in trying to get someone's attention to see if they would take him to the hospital or if they could help him but Steve already pissed from previous events couldn't rein his temper in any longer turned on the kid anger clouding his thoughts  "kid why the hell do you not take anything seriously, you made me lose bucky again piss off and bother someone else " Only Loki could sense the waves of sadness radiating of the small mortal he's come to love as a little brother, his only true friend, who ran off nobody taking the time to follow, well nobody but Loki 

Time Skip

It's been ages since the team had seen Peter but most of them just waved it off as teenage rebellion which is most likely in normal cases but they aren't normal. Peter stumbles in Loki in tow showing so more emotion than any of them had seen, Peter looks at them and sees the confused expressions and angry he decides it's his turn to snap  "Do any of you even care or am I just here for pity, please tell me so I know if I have to start packing" His expression went hard when nobody went to answer him, before a sad resigned smile graces his lips which is somehow worse " Yeah, you guys have a stressful life I get that but all I wanted was a ride to the hospital where my aunt lay her fate unknown" they all look regretful but not knowing what to say, Steve doesn't seem to notice him still stuck wallowing in his own self-pity

 He goes to the edge of the roof swinging his legs as he sits for a while until he can sense Loki's presence so he whispers "I may be broken and a freak, you probably think that about yourself as well but people have got to realise that because someone is broken doesn't mean their unfixable it might just take awhile" he finishes by smiling at the night sky with tears in his eyes, eyes that held so much knowledge of the world but he looks around seeing the world in a new light, with hope shining in eyes that have seen so much death that it's a miracle he's not already a lost cause, Peter doesn't realise as he starts to hum the sound of a song he heard the other days on the radio Loki just sits back a smile quirking at the side of his lips. Peter doesn't notice as his humming turns to singing, Loki looks at his child listening to his angelic voice

All the pain and the truth I wear like a battle wound, so ashamed, so confused I was broken I was bruised, now I'm a warrior I've got thicker skin, now I'm a warrior I'm stronger than I've ever been and my armour is made of steel, you can't get in I'm a warrior and you can never hurt me again,

Out of the ashes I'm burning like a fire
You can save your apologies you're nothing but a liar, I've got shame, I've got scars that I will never show, I'm a survivor

Peter finishes the last note with tears trailing down his face, he then speaks "just because I'm broken doesn't mean I'm unfixable, sure I've seen to much shit to ever be the same but fuck it I can still try at least" Loki nods in agreement, reassured that even if it's just them they would be a family. A small, broken, damaged, destroyed, forgotten dysfunctional family ignoring what anyone else thinks because they have each other and that's enough for both of them, they are them no matter what anyone else says, they have everything they need, they will fix each other because no one's unfixable
