28 Let The Games Begin

*Delilah's POV*

We soon leave Panera and we throw out our garbage. Ryder takes my hand and the VS bag. We start walking back to the car and I look at some of the stores. I haven't been in the mall in what feels like forever. Of course it's been over a month since Ryder kidnapped me. It's been over a month since I saw my other friends. Since I've been to a party. Been to college.

"Ryder!" I hear a female voice yell. I see Ryder tense at her voice.

"What?" He asks, his usual snappy self but he pulls me behind me and hides the girl from my sight. I wonder why.

"You put him in a coma!" She yells at Ryder and Ryder relaxes. I try to look to see what this chick looks like but Ryder's arms block me. Avocado.

      "Yeah, it was his fault!" Ryder yells her.

       "What if he doesn't wake up?! What if you killed him?!"

       "He's alive now and that's all that matters."

       "ARE YOU FUCKING STUPID?!" The girl yells and I see people looking at us.

       "Listen chica, you don't have the right to yell at my boyfriend like that." I snap at her as I try to walk around Ryder but of course he holds me back.

       "Wow, God really did make someone who sees the good in everyone. Ryder is a man-whore who doesn't give a fuck about anyone around him. He kills without remorse. He fucks without a care. You aren't his girlfriend and you'll never be. He doesn't love anyone but Rachel. Oh and Amy. Bet he didn't tell you about her, huh?" The mystery girl says and I'm instantly filled with rage.

        "You don't know him! You don't know anything about him! You can go run into a big brick wall!" I yell at her.

       "Oh sweetheart I do. I was his number one distraction. As much as I hate to admit it, I was. But of course that's over now that I found my boyfriend who your 'boyfriend' put in a coma! Oh and then there was high school!"

       "I bet your boyfriend deserved it."

      "Where did the 'seeing good' go?"

       "Girls stop!" Ryder yells. We are silent as he continues.

       "Look, I was mad that Eddie hurt Rachel like that. You know that I sometimes have anger issues. As for the distraction part, I was a mess after Amy died. For high school, well I was a player, what can I say? Now don't you dare talk to Delilah like that again, do I make myself clear?"

       "Yes, sir." The girl says.

       "Call Rachel please." Ryder tells her and I hear the girls heels get further from us.

      "What the fudge was that?" I demand.

      "That's Kelly, Eddie's girlfriend. She's been best friends with Rachel since they were younger. As life went on, they didn't talk as much but they were still close. She didn't know that Eddie was dating Rachel or anything related to that."

      "Oh." I say as I nod my head. Ryder doesn't say anything just drags me to the car.

       "Delilah, do you hate me?" Ryder asks after he starts driving. I'm shocked he'd ask such a question!

      "No, why?" I ask, confused. I see him let out a breath of relief. Why? What's wrong?

       "It's just after hearing that I put Eddie in a coma, I thought you'd be mad at me or disappointed. Maybe even horrified." Ryder explains and I understand.
