Tangled Strings (sequel to Red Strings)

Chapter 19

I grin at them they reminded me of younger versions of me and Nat, and they seemed relatively sane (except for the fact Luke wasn't their favourite but I could possibly be biased.) "Would you guys come help me pick out a camera?" "Of course!" they say excitedly in sync. 

"Hi there my name is Skyler and this is my new youtube channel, I don't really know why I've started this but I suppose everyone's go to start some where right?  Fair warning I was told by an American today that my accent is extremely thick so I apologize in advanced to all those who can't understand me. Anyway I'm seventeen and attended school in Sydney but I'm spending the summer in LA with a couple of my good friends." I wink inserting a jump cut to me jumping on the bed. 

"I'm not exactly sure what I'll be posting so I'm hoping some of you sexy people will be my best friend and give me an idea!  Also shout out to Justine and Lauren for helping me get all this equipment set up.  I will talk to you all very soon and I hope to have a new video on my channel uploaded every Thursday." I figured that was a good day cause Luke was in the studio and Nat had classes all morning. 

"Ok then later gators... " I wave "That was so lame." I mumble covering the camera lens with my palm.  This will work I assure myself as I watch the percent of the upload rise.   

Natalie's POV

"Alright this here is the University's library.  You can come in here and find anything you need, which can including all sorts of encyclopedia's and you are also able to access the online data base.  The data base could be used by your teachers maybe to post notes, or study outlines and such." our guide stated as I looked around the library.  At least if I wanted to get away from the boys I could.

"Any questions?" the guide asked, looking at all of us.  An awkward silence filled the group and she then said "Well that actually concludes our tour.  Remember, if you need any last minute things, or somethings gotten messed up, the main building with the offices, is just a block down this way, if any of you remember.  You all also have maps, and your schedules. Classes don't really start for another couple weeks, but feel free to explore further before they do start." 

Finally orientation was finished!  I sighed as we all left and I got to the bus stop, waiting patiently for the bus to arrive.  I was planning on stopping by a Staples to grab a couple binders before I headed back.  God, I need a car.  But I knew I would have to get used from driving on the left side to driving on the right side.  How Mikey was able to drive, I had no idea.  I was still surprised we didn't die in the car.

I looked at bunch of binder options as I bit my lip, gazing at the different colours.  The blue stripey one looked cute.  I grabbed it and grabbed a notebook as well.  There was a huge list like the typical back to school merchandise like pencils and pens.  I also got a new laptop case, just in the emergency case it somehow got destroyed by the boys.  At least me and Skyler both had Macbooks, that were the same size too.  

I finally left, and I felt my phone buzz in my pocket.  I pulled it out, gripping onto the plastic bag holding my school supplies.  I brushed back some of my hair as I answered the phone.  "Hello?" "Hey Natalie!" I heard the boys chirp.  "Lemme guess you guys wanna know how the orientation went." I stated as I continued to walk.  

"Well that's where we were hoping you had gone to." Ashton said, and I could imagine he had tried to steal the phone, even though it was still on speaker.  "Where are you now!" Michael suddenly called out and I replied as I continued walking towards the nearest bus stop.  Alright, I needed to figure out the closest bus stop to the boys.

"Um I kinda just walked off campus and there was a Staples a couple blocks away so I went there and I got supplies and now I have no idea where to go." I stated simply, sitting down on a nearby bench.  "Hey, we can pick you up!  Just walk back to the university campus me and Calum will pick you up!" Ashton said cheerily and I was about to say something until the line got cut off.  Great.

I bit my lip as I walked onto the borders of the campus, and I looked around, still not being able to believe how I was here, and how far I had made it.  

"Oh sorry!" I stated, nearly running into someone.  "Oh my god it's alright." an Australian accent stated and I looked to realize it was Sylvana.  "Natalie right...?" she said with a smile.  I laughed and said "Oh my God do you come here?" "Well…yeah I do.  I'm going into my second year.  I didn't know you were at USC!" "Well NOW I am." I joked

We started walking towards the nearby parking lot, the sun still high in the sky and the typical azure blue.  "So are you planning on living on campus or do you have a place?" Sylvana asked as I replied "Well I'm going to be staying with my friends. You remember....well um....5 Seconds of Summer?" "Oh my god you're staying with them!" she gasped.

"Yeah I know.  I mean, Skyler, my other friend, she came along obviously, and I guess we've been good friends with them for so long that it didn't seem to weird to start living with them." I shrugged before suddenly the car pulled in and I looked to see that Ashton was at the wheel, Calum with him in the front.  "Well the boys decided to pick me up.  But.....catch you soon I guess?" "Will do." she said with a smile, and she saw Ashton at the wheel.

I could see Ashton give a small wave and she returned it, smiling a little, before turning around and walking the opposite direction.  I got into the car, siting in the back seat.  "So Sylvana comes here...." Calum states and I nod, as I get buckled in.  "Ash why didn't you go say hi?" Calum asks nudging Ashton. 

Ashton runs a hand through his hair "Um uh cause I have you guys...?"  I roll my eyes at him and say "Come on dummy, it's obvious you gave her your number, you two have been texting and you two may have gotten a couple little outings in, and she said she was coming to USC, but you never mentioned it to me, and that's also why probably you volunteered to come pick me up from the campus because you were hoping you would get to see her."  I say it all in one breath.

Ashton looks gobsmacked and blushes and stutters "Well....I-I uh....well ya see....." "Dude I think Nat's got you." Calum says and I shrug.  "Just an observation!" I sigh as we finally arrive back at the house.
