Dear Diary,

You know that I live in America, right? You should. I live in the influentional U.S.A.

I was just thinking about equality. How far America has come with that is amazing, but I started thinking about this underdog party that has yet to spark a change.

The youth.

We're all waiting to turn sixteen and gain our first freedom—driving. Then we chew our nails to become eighteen and no longer be deemed a "child" by the courts. Then twenty-one. By then you're "officially" reached adulthood and all its freedoms with no limitations.

I see this as unfair. I'm not asking to change laws, but I'm trying to shed light on a few mature kids who have brilliant ideas, but are forced to silence because of our age. I'm not counting myself as part of this group, because sometimes my views are very ridiculous.

Of course sometimes we get recognized for doing something "good" or because we're "talented". But I want some real future politicians! (Although I'm never going into politics. I hear too much about them getting shot.)

Oh, gosh. I'm yammering on and on about a topic that I'm not very well educated on. What would Nana say? (Probably, "Shut up, Alison.") Don't you just love Nana?

Gosh, I've been so thirsty all day! I don't know why, but it's so annoying!

Love,

Alison
