Katherine

I sit up in the bed, awake from my afternoon nap. There's a Chipotle bag on my nightstand and a note from Brian. He told me he was out with Dom. I put the note down and stretched. A week on bed rest and I am already bored. I mean, this is every pregnant women's dream. To be able to lay in bed all day without having to worry about anything because her husband does it all...not me. I need to be on my feet doing something even if it's small.

I hear the door close downstairs and my senses spiked. I listen for footsteps. If it was an intruder, the alarm would've went off. It has to be the team.

"Sister?!"

I sighed in relief. "Up here, brother!"

Kaleb shuffled in a few seconds later. He took his shoes off and climbed in my bed next to me, getting under the blankets. I grabbed my Chipotle bag and opened the food. Triple chicken, double rice and beans with sour cream and cheese, chips and guac. My man knows me so well.

"Want to do some baby shopping with me?" I asked him.

"Sure, love." Kaleb nodded.

"Are you sober?"

"Hell no." He sat up. "Slightly tipsy."

I nodded and grabbed my laptop. I turn it on and log in and go on this baby shopping site. I type in cribs in the search bar of the website. A bunch of cribs showed up. I scrolled down.

"Can all of the babies fit in one crib?" Kaleb asked.

"No." I shake my head. "That's not only dangerous but would probably be uncomfortable. I was told to not even put stuffed animals around the crib in fear it would suffocate the child."

"Jeez." Kaleb whispered. "So three cribs, three swings, three high chairs, three pairs of the same outfit..."

"Yes." I nodded.

"You're about to go bankrupt." Kaleb laughed.

"Nah. My paycheck is getting fatter and fatter. Nobody is only paying me so much because I am pregnant."

"Actually, love, it's because you're the best on the team." Kaleb corrected.

I didn't like him saying that. I used to throw that in his face like a lot and I didn't realize how snarky it sounded until just now.

"We're both good." I kissed his forehead.

"What about that one?" He pointed at the screen.

I clicked on it. It was a StorkCraft Calabria crib with a changing table. It was beautiful with a dark coat. It was only three hundred dollars. Three of these will be damn near a thousand dollars plus tax. I looked at Kaleb and he nodded slowly. I ordered the cribs and used the twelve hour shipping. I plan to get everything I need for the babies room and then the team assembles together to put it together. The room is the largest room in the house besides this one. I go to eat my Chipotle.

"What's next?"

"That's it for today. Taking things slow. Besides, we don't know what we're having." I shrugged.

"I've been feeling weird lately." Kaleb confessed to me.

"How?" I frowned.

"Sort of like depression." He sighed.

"You drinking isn't going to help." I told him.

"Drinking takes the edge off, ya know? Makes me feel whole." He replied.

"Makes you feel whole? Honey, the team should make you feel whole. We're your family and we love you. You can always come to me." I put the food down.

"I know I have you...I know I have a lot but depression doesn't work like that. You can't give it a rain check. It sinks it's claws in you and doesn't let go until it feels like it. Fucking sucks."

"Want me to get you some lithium?"

"Lithium only makes me feel more numb than I already am." He shook his head.

"Cut the drinking out for a while. See if it makes you feel better. And if it does, we'll work from there. Okay?" I suggested.

"Okay. After tonight. Planning on going a bender with Mum."

"You know she's old. She can't hang." I laughed.

He laughed, too. "That woman is like a teenager. Wants to try everything new in the market."

"That's Mum for you." I was still laughing.

Kaleb looked at me and cracked up laughing like really hard. I couldn't help but laugh, too.
