Brian

"Look at her. I haven't seen her this way since we were sixteen." Kaleb told me as I watched her dance with Dom. We had just gotten done dancing ourselves. She's a good dancer.

"She's beautiful." I whispered.

Kaleb looked at me. "Cheryl has been eyeing you for the past ten minutes. You need to make a mends with her, dude."

I sighed and looked over in her direction. Her eyes caught mine and she looked away, embarrassed. I nodded at Kaleb and walked her way.

"I think Kay is pretty distracted, want to steal a quick dance?" I asked her, politely.

"You make her happy, Brian." Cheryl spoke slowly. "You continue to do that, okay? She deserves it."

"What?"

"Just treat her right. And when the next pretty little thing comes along, don't do Katherine as you did me." Cheryl flipped her hair over her shoulder. "Don't."

I nodded slowly. Cheryl hates Katherine and vice versa. Unless they had a secret make up meeting. I see on her arm a hand mark. It's a bruise. As if someone grabbed her arm and squeezed it really tight. Cheryl bruises easily. I remember once she bumped her hip on the table and had a full blown bruise. Some guy walked up to her.

"I'm ready to go home." He told her.

"I'm not." She replied.

"I said now. I won't ask again." He walked away, towards the cars.

I raised my eyebrows.

"And don't treat her like shit." Cheryl added to me.

I watched as she walked off, behind him. That was weird as hell. I shrugged and walked over to Tej and Rome. They were drinking beers.

"So the honeymoon?" Tej asked.

"The Bahamas." I replied.

"You're going to come back darker than me." Rome laughed.

"You do tan easily." Tej nodded.

"Fuck off." I rolled my eyes.

They both laughed.

"Kids anytime soon?"

"No. Not for a while." I shake my head. "I want her all for myself."

"You two deserve each other." Tej nodded at me.

Dom and Katherine finished their dance and Dom lead Katherine over to me. She kissed me.

"Enough of this sappy music. I want to get drunk." Kaleb came over to us as well.

Suddenly, Junior Mafia began to play on the speakers. People cheered and ran to the dance floor. Kaleb grabbed a bottle of champagne and ran right along with the crowd.

"Shall we?" Katherine asked.

"I can't dance."

"Oh please." She waved her hand. "You just waltzed with me on the dance floor."

"That's simple." I replied.

"Just move your body along with the rhythm, love." Katherine grabbed my hand.

I smiled at her. "Okay."

So the rest of the night, we danced to old hip hop songs. Katherine seemed truly happy, she was having the time of her life. Kaleb and her drank champagne and then switched over to Vodka. We lived in the moment. I can tell my life with Katherine was going to be fun.
