Katherine

We crept through the doors on tip toe. The base seemed like it's been abandoned. I can tell it wasn't because there's half a cup of coffee on the big round table. I had also left Tej with some equipment that will inform us of anyone coming. He was trying to figure out where my mum was. He spoke into our earpieces.

"You're good on the first floor. Front staircase has a guard waiting on the bottom step." Tej informed us.

"I got it." Kaleb whispered ever so slightly.

He broke from the team and next thing we heard was a single gun shot and a body drop. My heart rate sparked ever so slightly not knowing if it was my brother or the guard. Kaleb rounded the corner. He's okay.

"Front staircase is clear." Tej said.

We all go, the guard laying with a hole in his head. I hold my gun up as we crept up the stairs, cautious. We were as silent as a church mouse.

"Two guards at the top."

I looked up and saw them aiming at us. I pushed the team back and shot both dead. I let out a breath of adrenaline.

"You guys okay? Sorry for the shove." I shrugged.

"Outside of the door to the second floor is two guards. On the left corner and right is another one."

I took a deep breath and opened the door. Over my shoulder, Brian sniped him in the neck. I take two grenades off of my belt. They won't bomb the place. They'll stun the guards. I have two more. Should've brought the whole case. We storm in and shoot them. This team is unprofessional. This is boring and way too easy. I like a fist to fist brawl.

"I'm picking up another unarmed women on the third floor. You have to walk down the corridor, round the corner and there is a guard pacing back and forth."

"The rooms are cleared?" I asked.

"Yes."

We walk down the hall and to the guard pacing. He shot at me, it grazing my shin. I feel nothing with the adrenaline pumping through me. Dom killed him. Blood runs down my leg and into my sock. I looked at my wound.

"Hey Brian, you have one arm, I got half a leg." I joked.

Brian rolled his eyes.

"Someone is uptight." I whispered to Kaleb.

"Staircase is clear. There is a whole army waiting in front of a door on the third floor. Be careful guys."

"There's no way you could snipe them?" Kaleb asked.

"No windows."

"Shoot through the bloody walls." I snapped.

We walk up the stairs. I don't bother to be quiet anymore. We get to the door.

"I have two stunners left but still...be careful." I told the team.

"You actually care for someone else?" Brian is stunned.

"Do you want to go because I've had enough of your ass. Get over it. I left to save my mother and to spare your lives, you ungrateful son of a bitch. So shut the fuck up you big crybaby." I hissed.

"Sister. Come on." Kaleb sighed.

I turned back to the door and took the grenades off of my belt. The fucking nerve of Brian. I open the door and throw the grenades and wait for them to explode. We storm in, bullets flying left and right. I aim for heads because there can't be any survivors. The could start another team and I don't feel like dealing with bullshit. Bodies drop, men shout in hurt. We all took out some. Brian is doing well in his condition. I refuse to acknowledge him and tell him.

The passage to the door is cleared.

"That's it. You guys did it." Tej was amazed.

"No help to you pussies." I snapped.

"He just helped us." Kaleb reminded me.

"Thank you, Tej. Fuck you Rome."

"I love you too, Katherine." Rome laughed.

We walked to the door. It was locked. I tried to shoot through the lock it was bolted shut. I didn't dare shoot through it because I didn't know if the bullets would hit Mother. I placed my gun in my belt and punched the door with force. It dented.

"Easy." Kaleb told me.

I continued to punch the door. My knuckles began to bleed, I ignored them. I soon lost feeling in my fist and I can tell it was broke. I groaned and broke through the door. I kicked it with my foot. I then took a few steps back. Kaleb held up keys.

"I'm thinking this could've helped."

"I like to be theatrical." I shrugged.

"Knock yourself out."

I ran to the door and burst through it. The room has a table. It has a cell with a bed in it. A bathroom. I looked around. Mother is hiding under a table, scared. I rush to her. She looked at me in relief.

"I knew you guys would save me." She whispered.
