I walked calmly out through the back entrance of the apartement building, my black combat boots not making a sound on the cement floor.

That was too easy, I thought, tossing the knife I'd used into my black duffel bag and wiping a smudge of blood on my jeans. Killing just isn't that exciting anymore.

As I jogged down the steps to the subway stop, I got out my burner phone and sent out a quick text to an untraceable number.

Mission accomplished

They knew I wanted a new target. I didn't even have to ask anymore.
