"What part of grounded do you not get?" Sam starts, and I cringe slightly, I knew they weren't going to be happy about my little stunt, but I really didn't think about it that much.

"What do you mean?" I feign innocence.

"You going out with Noah today after school" Clare finishes, then holds up the note "and I did not find your note amusing at all." The look on her face matches her words perfectly, she does not look amused.

"Wait so you're not allowed to go places when you're grounded, huh, I didn't know, this is a first time for me, well lesson learned" I don't think I was very convincing, because Clare just raises her eyebrows, still staring me down.

"Nice try, that's another week" Sam crosses his arms over his chest.

"Another week, but..." I'm interrupted before I can finish.

"Do you want to make it two" he warns, looking as if he is definitely not in the mood for this right now.

"No" I mumble, looking down at the ground.

"Awkward" Archer says while standing in the door way.

I shoot him a sharp look, "Don't you have somewhere to be!" I say rudely.

"Kaison" both my father and Sam say at the same time.

"What?" I say innocently, Sam rolls his eyes, and my father gives me this funny look.

He clears his throat "I was thinking you could have dinner with us."

"No thanks I'm good, I'm grounded anyways." I start to walk towards the stairs.

"We think it would be a good idea" Sam says, and I notice that Clare hasn't really said much, other than yelling at me when I came in.

"You just told me I couldn't go out, and now you're telling me to go out?" I look at him.

"No, we're telling you to spend time with your family" he says sternly, not looking amused at all.

"Please" my father pleads, and I've only ever seen him look this desperate one other time in my life. That was the night I caught him cheating on my mother, and he begged me not to say anything.

Even though I'm mad at him, the old me still wants to do whatever he tells me to do, because I want him to be proud of me. I let out a sigh, "alright fine."

"Great, let's go" he says with a huge smile on his face.

"I call front" Archer yells before running out the door.

"I'll bring her back by eight" my father tells Sam and Clare as we walk out the door. When we get in the car my father let's out a chuckle "I never saw myself having to ask permission to take my own daughter somewhere."

"What's that supposed to mean?" I ask him, annoyed with my self for agreeing to go.

"Nothing, it's just funny how life works, is all" he says with a sad tone.

"Where are we going?" I change the subject.

"To a friend's house" he tells me.

"which friend?" my question is quickly answered when my father pulls up in front of the Colleens house, the place I was just moments ago.

Archer jumps out and runs inside, "dad I can't." I look at him desperately.

"Why?" he sounds confused as he turns the car off and pulls the keys form the ignition.

"Because the more people who find out, the bigger the chance of me being taken away, what do you think the government would do if they found out?" I tell him, but the real reason is that I don't want Noah to know.
