I'm in the general's tent, holding him. Rocking him like a baby. He likes this. I think he has severe mommy issues, and I'm on the receiving end of those issues.

I'm singing him a lullaby, rocking him gently.

My movements are so soft for the fury I feel inside.

I hate these nights.

They always start out like this. But they never end well. These nights are the worst. I hurt for the longest, bleed the most.

All because he has mommy issues.

I jolt awake, hearing someone call my name.

"It's okay, Pookie, you're okay," Sean's whispering to me.

My heart is pounding, and I'm having problems catching my breath. My body is trembling, the fear rooted inside me.

I bury my face deeper into his chest, his arms tighten around me.

"You're safe, now, Sang," he murmurs, rubbing his hands up and down my back.

Slowly I start to recover. My breathing returns to normal, and I stop shaking.

"What time is it?" I whisper.

I feel him shift to check the clock, but he never lets up on his hold.

"Almost time for us to get up," he groans.

I tighten my legs around his, "We should just stay like this forever," I mumble into his chest.

I feel him chuckle. "Some people might think that's unhealthy," he mocks me.

I smile against him, "That's because they aren't us."

He chuckles again, his whole body shaking with the movement.

"How are you feeling?"

I sigh, "Great right now," I reach up and kiss his neck.

"You still owe me about ten of those," he reminds me.

I giggle, "I think we caught up on those last night."

"I just counted another. That makes eleven."

"So my efforts were for nothing?"

"Of course not, I just wasn't counting."

I huff at him and say nothing.

"Owen will be here soon," Sean says, but doesn't make any move to get up.

"He can join us," I hum, not moving either.

He chuckles again. "I'd love to see his face when you invite him."

My own face burns. I don't think I could manage that.

I sigh one more time and roll away.

Reluctantly, Sean lets me go and we both get up, readying everything before Owen arrives.

I open my fridge and discover a small box with a note on it.

Heat these for 15 seconds and prepare to have your mind blown.

No secret who wrote this. I open the box and giggle.

Inside are three pastries. From what I can tell, they have chocolate filling and powder sugar on top.

Luke's the best.

"What's that?" Sean asks, coming into the kitchen.

"Breakfast."

I take two out and heat them in my microwave.

Oh my.

The flaky dough collapses into the pool of chocolate inside. The powder sugar coating my tongue before the warm chocolate washes over.
