Chapter 8

KELLINS POV
Vic started up at the night sky, his eyes reflecting the glowing moon and his perfect lips slightly parted.
I smiled at him, 'It's beautiful..'
Vic nodded in agreement and tore his gaze away from the millions of stars that twinkled in the sky, 'Like you then.'
I blushed and hid my face behind my hair.
Vic chuckled slightly and nodded for me to follow him.
'Starbucks sound good?' Vic asked.
'It's open at this time?' I asked.
He nodded, 'Twenty-four hours.'
I smiled and nodded, 'Okay.'

I blew on my coffee, sending steam flying around the air.
'So, you wanted to tell me something?' I asked.
Vic nodded and swallowed a gulp of his latte, 'Indeed I did.'
'Okay?' I replied, waiting for him to tell me.
He sighed and wiped his mouth.
'So, I wanted to ask you a question. I've been thinking about it for a while, before you came actually, but I never really planned it. But you're here now so I mi-'
I cut him off, 'Just tell me.'
He nodded, 'O-okay.'
He took another sip of his coffee and put the mug down, ' I want you to run away with me.'
My stomach flipped and my heart started to pound, 'W-what?' I stuttered.
'I know, it's crazy, but I've thought it through. We'll plan it for a few more weeks, then we leave. Together. We can go far away, states, countries, whatever. I can't deal living here anymore. We can move to a country where all of this is legal. Where we can love each other without it being forbidden. Please? Think about it.' Vic pleaded.
'What if we get caught?' I whispered.
'We won't.' He stated.
'Come on, really?' I said, raising an eyebrow.
'We'd be careful. We can leave the country if we need to.. please kells. If you'd been stuck here for around five years you'd get it.' He begged.
I nodded, 'Okay, I'll think about it. But seriously, what would happen if we got caught?'
'Uh, I guess they'd just send us back. So we have nothing to lose Kells..' He said.
I nodded, 'I guess.'
'So?' Vic urged.
I laughed and rolled my eyes, 'I said I'd think about it.'
Vic smiled, 'Okay.'

'We should head back.' I whispered.
Vic groaned, 'Come on, a little longer?'
'It's nearly three in the morning!' I said.
Vic pouted at me, his puppy eyes glistening in the moonlight as it shone through the cafe window.
'Okay.. okay, a little longer.' I giggled.
'Yay.' Vic cheered, laughing.
I smiled and looked at him.
God, he was gorgeous.
'Why thankyou.' Vic smiled.
My face flushed bright red, 'W-what?' I stuttered.
'Thinking out loud, Quinn.' He laughed.
'O-oh.. I'm s-'
He pressed a finger to my lips he and hushed me, before leaning in and pressing his lips to me, making my stomach erupt with butterflies.
I kissed him back, smiling into the kiss.
This was perfect.
And in that moment, nothing else mattered.
In that moment, it wasn't illegal.
In that moment, the world didn't exist.
Until..
'Hey! Get out of my shop before I call the police!' Someone yelled.
Vic and I pulled apart, alarmed.
'Oh.. I'm s-sorry.' I stuttered.
The man shook his head in disgrace, 'Quick, leave before I pick up that phone.'
We nodded and ran out the shop.
'You see why running away couldn't work?' I muttered.
'No, because it's legal in Europe and Australia.'  Vic said.
'Wow, you've done your research.' I smiled.
'Yeah.' Vic laughed.

We lay on the floor in our usual spot, the top of a tall skyscraper in New York.
Vic looked at me adoringly and ran his fingers through my hair, placing a kiss on my lips.
'You're so beautiful darling.' Vic smiled,  staring deep into my eyes.
I blushed and looked away,
He's lying to you.
'You don't have to say that.' I whispered.
'What do you mean?' Vic asked.
'Just because you've kissed me a few times, doesn't mean you have to call me beautiful' I muttered.
Vic looked into my eyes, like he was searching for something, then looked away with a frown.
'Go out with me.' He said.
'What?' I asked.
'Go out with me.' Vic said.
I smiled and pecked his lips, giggling, 'I thought you'd never ask!'
Vic chuckled, 'Can I call you beautiful now?'
I looked down and shrugged, 'Like I said, you don't have to say that just because we're going out.'
Vic frowned, 'Kells, I'm not. I'm saying coz I mean it..'
I looked at him in surprise, 'What, you actually m-mean it?' I asked.
He nodded, 'Of course I do. I think you're the most gorgeous person I've ever laid eyes on and I'm glad I can call you mine.'
'R-really?' I asked, my eyes watering with tears.
'Yes. One hundred percent.' Vic said.
A small smile spread on my face.
Don't listen he's lying.
No he's not, he just said he wasn't.
That's a lie too.
My smile quickly faded.
He wouldn't lie to me would he?
Of course he's lying. You're no one.
But I'm someone to him.
No you're not, he'll leave you like everyone else. Hell, you're own parents sent you away. No one can ever love you.
Tears began to over flow my eyes and a small sob escaped my lips.
'You don't believe me do you?' Vic asked, sadness flooding his eyes.
'I'm sorry, I can't..' I choked out.
Vic engulfed in his arms, 'I would never lie to you darling.'
'I'm sorry.' I sniffed.
'Don't be.' He said, hushing me.
'It's just, no ones ever said that to me before and I've spent my whole life not liking what I've seen in the mirror.. it's just hard to you know.. believe you.' I whispered.
'I know kells, but I swear to you, you are so gorgeous it makes me heart flutter.'
I smiled and kissed his cheek, 'Thankyou.. so much.'
'You're welcome darling.' Vic whispered.
We lay in silence for a while, vic occasionally pressing soft kissed to my forehead before finally, he spoke:
'So...'
'So..?'
'Any thoughts on leaving the prison?' He asked.
I smirked and rolled my eyes, 'Okay.'
'What?' He said.
'Okay.' I replied.
'Okay?' Vic asked, hopefully.
'Okay!' I laughed.
'Y-you'll go with me?' Vic asked.
'Of course I will.' I smiled.
'Oh my god.. thank you so much.' Vic breathed.
'Anything for you.' I whispered shyly.
Vic kissed me firmly and that's basically what we did for the rest of the night.
