Don't let anything get you distracted from God. Nothing should be more important than Him, not your job, grades, possessions, and even people. God should be your top priority. He made us His top priority when He does in the most painful way possible after being tortured so that we could have freedom. Putting nothing before God makes us live our lives the way He tells us to, which also happens to be the best way for us to live. Whenever something becomes more important than God it becomes your idol, it's what you worship, your whole life becomes centered around that thing. Sometimes it won't really be bad things your focused on, it might be school work or your family, but when you think about more the. God it becomes a problem. God should come first in your life because there's no other way you can live out the plans He has for you, you'll be bond by money, people, busyness, and other things you made your priorities. You have to let go of the other things in your live, you don't have to give them up if they aren't a bad habit but you do need to make them smaller so God can become bigger in your life.
