Day 40

Screaming isn't always the best way to be heard. When I get into an argument with my sister she starts screaming and then I'll scream back louder so she will listen to me. Only my screaming just makes her angrier at me, causes more screaming from both of us, and I end up saying things I don't mean. I keep trying to remind myself that if I talked in a calm civil voice and tried to work out the argument in a peaceful way it would most likely go a lot better. Only I remember this for maybe the first minute of the argument or after it's over and I yelled just as much. I need to swallow my pride and yes apologize but also not do the same thing again next time. I need, and I'm guessing I'm not the only one, God's peace, patience, gentleness, and self control. We need to act like Jesus would with compassion, love, and a level head when we get into a situation where we want to fight fire with fire instead of using God's living water.
