Some people think freedom comes from no rules. Others realize that rules are needed to keep everyone's freedom. God's rules are like that, they are meant to protect us and keep us from destroying ourselves. When asked what the two most important commandments are Jesus says, "Love your Lord God with all your heart, soul, mind, strength and love your neighbor as yourself." Not exactly rules set by someone who just wants to boss others around. He certainly could, He has all the power in the universe. Correction he created the universe and all the power in it, God has every reason to boss us around and force us to do His will. But He gave of free will to choose to love Him and rules to guide us to the best life we can have. Follow God's rules and let His words guide you to live a life full of love, peace, and joy.
