Duchess: Not yet a Queen but born of high birth right .
Duke is Ahmet's nickname

Cai and Wakanda's history went way back. Way back before T'challa and I were born. During the beginning of T'chaka's reign he expressed his concern of Cai's unwillingness to co-operate. Not many places knew of Wakanda but, the King had always spent his summers in Cai as a young prince training to take control of the throne. He knew that Cai, needed help. Like any other place it was wealthy in the city and poor on the outskirts. One thing was for certain, though Wakanda had many resources the one thing it did not grow was cobalt.

Cai did.

In fact, Cai had so much cobalt that it had enough to give away and still have plentiful remaining. My Father, the Emporer knew that if King T'chaka truly wanted what was ours, he would have to give something back. He tried money, he refused. For my Father was a wealthy man. He tried resources, he refused. For my father could get the resources. He tried gold, he refused. For my father had it pouring out of his ears. That's when the thought dinged in T'chaka's head.

" My first born son and your first born daughter can be arranged. When the girl turns 19, she will be sent off to Wakanda. With this marriage she will mend Cai and Wakanda and in time, Cai can become an extension of Wakanda of sorts. You'll get first dibs on international bargains, you'll be the.....little brother country of sorts. This way you know that your bloodline will never die ", T'chaka proclaimed.

" Deal ", Emporer Atsu gripped forearms with the mighty King and since that day, our fates were set in stone.

My future, bargained like a trade. My destiny- chosen for me. I was groomed to be a true Wakanda princess. I studied the language, I was taught the history. Everything I ever did was in preparation to becoming Wakandan Royalty. I'd met T'challa multiple times throughout my childhood. We were no strangers to each other, we knew what we would become to one another but we never truly held a friendship. We'd pop in and out of each other lives almost as a hovering reminder. One would say that I had no true identity. One would say that my father never really loved me to begin with. I didn't know for sure, I didn't know what to feel. I never screamed, or cried, or went on bratty rants. I did what my Mama and Baba told me to do. All of my work towards becoming a true princess was approaching head on and I had no choice but to take it head on.

" Harper ! ", I heard a distant voice call my name. I walked to the courtyard garden in one of my many summer dresses. I was taking my baby lamb for a walk on a bright summer morning. Baba had just gotten me one for my 19th birthday. It was also a bribe to keep me from going off to college in the America's. Truthfully there was no bribing that needed to be done, I knew where I had to go. In his mind, maybe it made the blow a little less harsh. After all, I'd need a friend for this journey.

" Come on Oliver ", I tugged on his leash and walked inside the palace common room.

" You're grace ", the guard tipped his hat and escorted me to the ballroom where my Mother stood beside my Father

" My Dear one ", my mother stretched out her arms to me. I embrace both parents in a hug. I knew what was to come, and they knew what was to come. There was a bitter sweetness to it all. After waiting and waiting for something to happen it was relieving to know that it was time to get it over with. The downfall is that the journey ahead could be one full of twists and turns.

" Harper. You know that a marriage must take place between Wakanda and Cai in order for this treaty to be set in stone  ", my mother's eyes rested on mine.
