And so they drew lots.

Zeus withdrew the longest lot, brandishing it with glory. The thunderclouds above his head rumbled, lightning flashed across the sky.

Olympus and Earth were within his domain. His fist closed around his thunderbolt, sparks flying.

Poseidon drew the medium lot; the edges glowed like the sea. It rippled like a crested wave.

He was God of the Sea. His Trident flared and the ocean erupted.

Hades glowered at his own lot, the shortest and as black as night.

His Helm of Invisibility fell over his eyes, shielding him from view. He disappeared into the darkness, never to return to the light.

Achlys, Goddess of Mist.

She drew a fourth lot.

She claimed Διαίρεση; Diaíresi̱, the split between Olympus & Earth.

The Realm of Demi-Gods. A place destined for peace.

Until the Great War threatened their home. They slunk away into the forgotten corners of our minds.

Slowly they slipped away.

Gone.
