Katniss Pov.
At lunch, Fox doesn't sit with us, she sits alone. Good, she deserves to be isolated from good people. The gang asks if I can hang out after school. I don't want to lie, but Peeta will be mad if I'm hanging out with Cato.
"I have to babysit Prim today, sorry." I make up an excuse.
"Can I come over?" Peeta asks.
"No, sorry, my mom doesn't want anyone at the house when she's not there." I tell him because she doesn't let me have anyone over when she's not home anyways.
"Okay." Peeta says.
I got away with it I guess. I'm glad Prim isn't hanging out with Rue today. School goes by fast. I walk home and get in my car. I text Cato.
"Where are we meeting up?"
"Mall?"
"Kk"
I drive to the mall. I look for a place to park and see a spot right next to Cato's car.
"Hey!" I say with a smile.
"Hey!" he gives me a smile back. He hugs me, I don't know what to do but it's just a harmless hug and we haven't hung out in a while so I hug him back. We go in the mall. He asks what the fight was about yesterday and I tell him everything.
"I'm sorry Kat." he says.
"It's fine, we are all getting along now." I tell him.
"So, I don't want to add more trouble to your life, but I thought you should know that I still have feelings for you." he says and I notice myself staring into his sparkling eyes. "Katniss?"
"Sorry." I blush a little and he chuckles.
"I'll walk you to your car." I drive home, I can't stop thinking about him.
