42: dying of laughter

When the two of us arrived at the house, Grayson unlocked the door and threw the keys to the truck in a bowl on the sideboard near the door. He carried one of my bags all the way up the stairs and I carried the backpack up with him.

"aww... baby Gray's room." I said, even though I had been here before,

"yeah..." he said and laughed at my remark.

I put the bag on the floor near my side of the bed and he put the suitcase on the floor near the wardrobe.

"Ethan put something in there for you but he wouldn't let me see..." he said and shrugged,

"oh." I said surprised and then opened the closet to see the case for my wedding dress.

I smiled and shut the door,

"what is it?" Grayson said smiling because he was intrigued,

"nothing." I said shrugging and smiling still,

"come on!" he said getting anxious,
"no... you'll find out another day." I said and then he rolled his eyes at me and we walked down the stairs together,

"where is everyone?" I asked,

"they're outside..." he said as he led me through the house and out to the backdoor or the house.

"Ava!" Ethan shouted as he waved from the other side of the garden,

"hey E!" I shouted back to him,

"Ava... it's great to see you again," Sean said to me as Lisa came over to me and pulled me in for a hug,

"you too," I said to him,

"we've got a fun day planned for tomorrow." Cameron said as she came over from where Ethan was to say hi,

"what're we doing?" I asked intrigued,

Grayson's dad was maintaining a barbeque near the concrete floor and said, "me and the boys are doing housework all day while you three go off and have fun." He sighed,

"sounds great... I'm excited," I laughed,

"yay... housework!" Grayson said sarcastically and then sighed,

"you guys can do all the work..." Ethan shouted from the other side of the garden, where he was cutting away some vines that were covering part of the garden,

"you're trusting him with a knife?" Grayson laughed,

"don't remind me," his mum said as she rolled her eyes.

Then, we all sat down for a barbeque which consisted of burgers, sweet chilli chicken and spare ribs. After the barbeque, all of us hung out in the garden for a bit until their mum had to go and run some errands and she dragged along Sean and Cameron.

"so, what should we do?" Ethan said as he walked over to the two of us,

"Greta's?" Grayson suggested,

"sure..." Ethan said as he wiped his face,

"you should probably shower first," Grayson laughed at him,

"yeah... I thought so." Ethan nodded and then ran inside.

I hopped into the backseat of Ethan's truck and Grayson hopped into the passenger seat,

"bro... Greta is going to be so happy to see you," Ethan said nodding to the music,

"have you been there already?"
