after catching up with Lucy and telling her about the wedding in New Jersey, it dawned on me that I was leaving in a few days and I was probably getting married over that time frame. Wow.

I headed back home to Oscar and the rest of my family.

"how did it go?" my mum asked me,

"great thanks..." I said as I walked in the door and set my bag down,

"that's brilliant," she said with a smile,

"I get the results in six weeks." I said to her and she nodded at me.

I looked around and saw that more boxes had spawned in the house and less appliances and objects were scattered around the rooms. Oscar came running over to me panting with mud on his paws which made my mum sigh,

"where's dad?" I asked as I petted the dog,

"he went shopping with your brother..." she said as she grabbed a towel from the cupboard and tried to clean the brown muck off of Oscar's crisp white and grey fur.

"well then where is Isabel?" I asked confused,

"who?" she looked at me confused, "oh!"

"yeah... do you remember now?" I laughed,

"she went with them but I didn't really realise she was here until I walked downstairs this morning and saw a ginger mop of hair sitting at the breakfast table!" she laughed to me,

"that's so bad!" I said to her,

"how long had she even been here?" she asked me,

"ever since he got here." I shrugged and stood up from the dog,

"he'd never mentioned her before... I guess it was a whim visit."

"yeah... I had no idea who she even was." I said back to her,

"oh well... he seems happy enough."

"the first proper sentence she said to me was asking if I was dating a Dolan." I said with my eyebrow raised, to which my mum rolled her eyes,

"some people." She shook her head, "they want to stick their noses into everyone's lives."

"did I tell you about my old history teacher?" I asked her,

"no... what happened?"

"well, he wants me to do a photoshoot with his wife because she's a photographer and wants to build up her portfolio."

"really?"

"yeah..." I said because that wasn't a reaction I was looking for,

"you should do it." She suggested,

"what?" I asked puzzled, "you always hated the modelling and stuff."

"I do to be honest but you haven't done anything for so long and it would be fun to get out there and do something..." she suggested,

"I guess so." I thought aloud, "will you come with me?" I asked,

"sure..."

I called the number on the back of the business card and soon enough, she picked up and we were scheduled for a shoot tomorrow all day.

---

"have you got your outfits ready?" my mum shouted from downstairs,

"yeah!" I shouted back and then hopped down the stairs with a clothes case and my backpack,

"ready to go?"

"ready." I said and then the front door flew open and I was rushed into the car.

"the train leaves in ten minutes..." my mum said as she accelerated down the road.

If we were in the Mustang, we would probably be there by now.

"I know... we're going to make it if you put your foot down." I said as I looked at the dashboard to see that she was going twenty miles per hour down a thirty-limit road.
"but the speed cameras!"

"there aren't any!" I said and then she stepped on the gas harder and the car moved much quicker.

As we pulled up at the train station, the woman was standing there with all of her camera equipment in separate black bags. We practically ran to get our tickets from the machine and then had to run over to the fourth platform, which was just in time for the train. I sat down in the seat and a sigh of relief escaped my mouth.

"I brought my portfolio for you to have a look through." She said sheepishly to me and handed me a book,

"I have my one for you as well." I smiled and handed the forty-something-year-old my black book full of pictures.

I flicked through her portfolio and saw that she mainly worked with brick walls and solid backgrounds. There were a few wedding images in there, as well as pictures of someone's dog.

I saw her practically studying my portfolio as she focused on the backgrounds and my poses in the photos.

"I have an idea of where to go." She said as she handed me back the book and I slid her one back to her.

"great." I smiled once again,

"have you got your clothes?" she asked me and I pointed to the case next to me. "perfect." She smiled and then fiddled around with her camera and the other equipment she had brought with her.

"I see you've done lots of weddings..." I mentioned,

"oh, yeah... have you got one for your wedding?" she asked me,

"yeah... well, I think so. Grayson sorted everything out so I don't know to be honest."

"is it local?"

"no... we're getting married in his home town." I nodded,

"sounds like it's going to be fun." She said to me and then I nodded again.

My phone started ringing and I looked at the ID to see that it was Grayson,

"hey." I picked up,

"hey babe... are you at your shoot yet?" he asked me,

"no... I'm on the train right now,"

"okay cool," he said

"was there something you wanted?" I asked because it seemed like a really random call,

Madeline (the photographer) looked up at me confused and I mouthed 'Grayson' to her, to which she nodded and then went back to messing with her cameras,

"I just wanted to say good morning and stuff..."

"good morning Gray!" I said loudly and the mother and her child sitting in the seats near me, my mum and Madeline looked quite confused.

"morning Ava!" he shouted which made my ear ring,

"it's early in Jersey, right?" I asked him,

"yeah... it's six in the morning." He said,

"why are you awake? Are you ill?" I joked,

"ha. Ha." He said bluntly, "no... I'm going out on the boat with E and Cameron today." He said and I heard rustling in the background,

"are you on the boat already?" I asked as the train began to stop at the first stop,

"yeah..."

"wow! You got up super early then." I laughed.

"well anyway... I'd better go, love you babe." Grayson said and then I said goodbye before hanging up.

When the second stop came around, we got off of the train and I followed Madeline over to the first location. It was something different for her and I was happy to be there for her first shoot in the style I loved.
