"What is this? Payback? Look, I'm sorry I tricked you. I wasn't after you." She defended herself. Hayley and Eve had a shotgun each, pointing at her. She didn't seem very troubled about that.

"What? We were just collateral damage? You almost burned her and Jackson alive in that plantation fire!" Eve replied. I liked her. She had guts.

Celeste tried to move, but was taken off guard when Hayley shot with her shotgun. "Careful, Sabine or Celeste or whatever you like to call yourself. Sudden moves make me jumpy and homicidal." I smiled at her words. For a pregnant woman, she was really badass, I had to admit that.

"What you are going to kill me, honey?" Celeste retorted challengingly.

"No, I know better. You see, I know all about you. I know that you like to off yourself and jump into other people's bodies. Well, that's not gonna here. I know I can't kill you, but try hexing me and my friend Eve here will kneecap you. Go for and then well, I'll really make it hurt."

"Go for either and we will see how well you function without limbs or tongue." I added as soon as she finished. Celeste turned her gaze to me.

"Oh, I know you. You are Cassandra, the prophetess. Another burned lover of Elijah Mikaelson." She commented with a sick smirk on her face.

"Do not think even for a second that I forgot the pain you caused me. I promise you, you'll suffer for that, bitch." She burst out laughing. I was hardly holding myself from cutting her head off at that moment.

"This is not why we are here." Hayley intervened, interrupting Celeste's laughing, probably realizing that I wouldn't be able to contain my rage any longer.

"What do you want?" Celeste asked turning her attention back to Hayley again.

"Back in the 90's you inhabited a witch named Brine Deveraux, remember?" Celeste's look changed. Of course, she remembered. "Marcel had her, you, put a curse on a lot of werewolves, so that they only turn human on a full moon." Hayley continued.

"I see... Yes, that was me. Let me guess, you want revenge." I couldn't believe my own ears. Was she really that sick?

"I want you to undo the curse." Hayley replied.

With great surprise, I saw not only Celeste agreeing to help Hayley, but also making the antidote herself. It was a green disgusting liquid, which I would never want to taste, unless I had to. I was sceptical a bit, if it would truly work. I couldn't think of any reason that Celeste would have to help Hayley. I was eyeing her suspiciously the whole time she was working on the cure, in case she made a move against us. But, she didn't seem like a person that wanted to escape. She seemed like she wanted to be here. That this was part of her plan. But, obviously she didn't expected to be kidnapped and brought to the bayou.

After finishing what she was doing anyway, she handed Hayley the jar with the green liquid. Hayley was hesitant too.

"It's herbs ground into paste. It will act as a conduit to the spell. On the next full moon, when your people become human, feed it to them and the curse will be broken." Celeste explained. She was saying the truth, I could sense that.

"Great way to poison us all at once." Hayley pointed out.

"Look, I know you have no reason to trust me, but Hayley... I actually like you." I scoffed at that. Seriously now? You liked her, but still you tried to kill her. What an irony.

"I like you too, Cassandra. No matter how hard it is to believe me. I was you." She said looking at both of us. "Caring for Elijah when he cared more for his brother and I ended up dead. So did a lot of others. This... Call it a chance to give you, what I was too in love to give myself. It's a chance to free yourself from the Originals."

"Do you believe her?" Eve asked, accompanied by the growling of the wolves around us.

"Whatever she's promised you, it's a lie." A male voice was heard. Me and the others turned to look at the one and only Elijah Mikaelson.

"Elijah, it's ok, I'm ok." Hayley reassured him.

"She cannot be trusted."

"She is the only one that can help my pack." The conversation was intense from the very beginning.

"Do you have any idea what she has done to our family?"

"I know you want revenge. And the next full moon, when I'm sure her cure works, she is all yours."

"Are you suggesting that he hold her, HER, captive for an entire month? It'd take an army."

"And I've got one." Hayley replied, with the wolves' howling confirming her words. I turned to look at Celeste who was smiling mischievously. When she realized I was looking at her, she turned her gaze to me smirking. "So help me or get out of my way." Hayley said and I was sure these were her final words.

I was waiting for Elijah to react somehow, to yell, to frown, to try to be reasonable, but he stayed emotionless for the next few seconds. When I was sure, he would do none of the above, Elijah disappeared in a blur, taking Celeste and the jar with him. I should be expecting that. Stupid vampire tricks.

"You should have seen that coming." I commented.

"So what do we do now?" Hayley asked.

"We wait."

"Wait?" She scoffed. "You are asking me to sit here and wait, while the cure of my people is at stake?" She continued, raising her voice with every word she said.

"I guess so. Elijah might be stubborn and sometimes do things the way he thinks best, but he won't deny you the chance to be with your family."

"And how do you know that?" Eve spoke up.

"I've known Elijah longer than you two have. Trust me on this." We waited and waited and waited. But, I was sure Elijah would do as I said. No matter how hard it was for me to accept this, he loved Hayley. And because of that, he would want to see her happy and the only way for her to be happy, was to be with her family.

When I could hear his and Celeste's steps, I suggested that Eve and I should go and have a walk in the nearby area to gather some wolfs. It's not that I cared much about them, I just didn't want to be anywhere near Elijah at the moment. His feelings for Hayley... It hurt me. At least I had to be honest with myself. There was no point in lying at this point. Eve agreed with my suggestion, while Hayley stayed behind, waiting for Elijah.

My feelings for Elijah were complicated. On the one side I hated him so much for what he did to me and there was this annoying other side that... couldn't just let him go. He had clearly moved on, despite what he said. I had to move on. Maybe it wasn't meant to be. Me and him. Maybe fate was wrong this time. Maybe... I sighed. Who I was trying to fool?

When fate was wrong?
