Chapter 14

I had just arrived at the event our high school was holding. It was necessary to wear a bikini, but in spite of being quite fit, I still felt a bit uncomfortable.

"OMG!!!" I exclaimed seeing the placard.

SEXY SUDS CARWASH, so Caroline style... I sighed and headed to the cash desk, where Caroline was giving instructions to Elena.

"No friend discounts, no frees, no pay delayers, we are not running a charity here!"

"Pretty tough!" I commented.

Caroline gave me a death glare and immediately I raised my hands as a response.

"Hi!" Stefan greeted us.

"Hey!" Elena and I greeted back.

"The event is called sexy suds you know???" Caroline said with an ironic tone, looking at the three of us, before leaving. They both stared at her shocked.

"Did we just get told off?"

"And judged, yeah."

"That's Caroline. Sorry, guys." I said cracking a smile. They laughed. They looked so adorable together...

"I'm sorry, but I guess you have to take that off."

"You have to take that off first."

"Ok, that's my queue to leave..." I said and turned my attention to some clients who wanted to pay...

"Elena you can go to the carwash, I will take over..."

"Ok..." She said leaving holding hands with Stefan.

I don't know how long was at the cash desk, although I didn't mind... I didn't like the glares from all the creeps... All of sudden I heard screams. I saw Bonnie running.

"Hey, Bonnie what happened?"

"Eh, a fire broke out..." She mumbled and left immediately...

"Fire?" I asked myself. How can that happen? There is water everywhere...

Anyway, after some hours of helping at the carwash I decided it was time for me to leave. So, I informed Tiki, who had taken over after Caroline's disappearance and took my regular way home. Walking is a way for me to think and that's what makes me like it. I realized I hadn't seen anyone of my friends from some point and after. Caroline had disappeared, Elena had disappeared too and Bonnie had left like something terrible was happening. A lot of weird things happen lately... Sometimes I recall my ordinary life a few years ago...

Arriving home I saw my Granny being in a hurry, packing some suitcases.

"Granny what's going on? Why are you packing?" I asked her in astonishment.

"We are leaving."

"Why? What happened?" She stopped and looked at me straight in the eyes.

"Mystic Fall is not safe anymore." She replied in a steady and serious tone.

"Why? What do you mean Mystic Falls is not safe anymore?"

"There are some things you need to know."

"Ok, then tell me."

"Of course I'll tell you, but right after we reach our destination."

"I'm not leaving until you tell what the hell is going on!!!" I yelled.

She looked at me debating with herself whether to tell me or not.

"Ok, I'll tell you. But, you have to promise me that you will not tell anybody." She didn't even mention the use of the bad word.

"I promise Granny. Now, tell me what is so important that we need to leave."

"I should make some tea. You will need it. Be prepared, you are going to hear some things that will change your life forever."
