"Do you know what that woman was talking about?"

"What did she mean?"

"What could your ancestors hide?"

All the evening passed by like a flash. Everyone made questions about what the woman had said, but I was unable to answer. Not only because I wasn't sure of what I should answer, but also my mind was busy thinking about him. Eventually, I stood up from the living room, without answering any questions and went straight to my room. I hoped the others could understand.

I lay in my bed and curled up in a ball. I couldn't believe it! If everything that woman said was true, then I was a descendant of one of the greatest vampire hunters in history. And not only that, but also I was linked somehow by destiny or fate or whatever you like to call it, with one of the most ancient and dreadful vampires in history. I couldn't even dare to think his name. It had been a long time, since I last thought about him.

"Cassandra?" Iphigenia said knocking the door.

"Come in, Iphigenia." I said and she came in, sitting by my side.

"What's up with you? I can sense there is something troubling you. I might not be one of the family, but I can sense some things."

"You are one of the family and indeed there is something torturing me."

"Then what is it? You know you can trust me."

"Of course I trust you. But, this is unforgivable."

"I'm sure it's not so terrible as you think it is."

"It is."

"Talk to me. You might feel better." I sighed in surrender.

"Ok, but you can't tell anything to anyone."

"You have my word." She said taking my hands in hers.

"Well, do you remember when you first came to Mystic Falls and we went to the Grill and you know had a party?"

"Yes, I do."

"When I went to talk to a teacher of mine there was a man there."

"A man wearing a black coat who couldn't take his eyes of you?" Her answer left me by surprise.

"You noticed it too?"

"Of course I did. So what's up with this guy?"

"Before I met him, I couldn't stop dreaming about him. At first I thought there were just dreams. It was later that I found out there were actually visions. And that I was bound to be with this man."

"So, did you talk to him? Did you have some kind of relationship?"

"It's not that simple Iphigenia. Well, he wanted us to be together, but I was hesitant. Although, deeply inside I wanted to be with him too, I couldn't allow this to happen."

"Why?"

"Because... because... he is a vampire." I said in the end. She looked at me her mouth hanging open.

"A vampire?" She repeated in disbelief.

"Yes. And not just any vampire. An Original vampire."

"An Original?" She repeated again, still unable to believe my words.

"Do you see know why this relationship couldn't work?"

"I do. I'm sorry."

"Don't be."

"And it's not only that. If what that woman said is true, then we are descendants of vampire hunters. And do you know what did the vampires want to do to them? They wanted to kill them. To destroy them."
