Chapter 25

Dean POV

I was standing there looking at Cas who was smiling lightly.
"Dean?" Sam shook my shoulder.
"Yes." i simply say. Sam and Cas giving me confused looks but i pulled Cas up in a hug.
"Yes Cas, i will marry you." i said and felt the other man sigh and wrap his arms around me. He then pulled away and took my hand sliding the ring on my finger.
"Cas, its amazing." the ring was plain silver one with a small heart carved on the inside. "I love it" i whisper and see Cas's bright smile. I pulled him close and kissed him. The crowd was cheering and i even heard someone say 'we should have had a double wedding' and that made me laugh. We pulled away from each other smiling and started partying. We were celebrating two things now. Sam and Jess's wedding and our engagement. Or was it only that?
"Can i have your attention please?" Jess said a bit nervously when everyone turned around to look at her. "Yes, thank you, uhh.. Well i have something to say. It may become a third reason to celebrate tonight.... I want to announce that....." she looked at Sam who was so confused but smiled and nodded encouraging her to continue.
"I want to announce that Sam and I are expecting our second child." she said and suddenly the people started cheering so loud the music couldnt be heard. I made my way to the newly wed couple and hugged Jess congratulating her and my brother. It was good news indeed.
The rest of the party went great. We spent the whole night without sleeping and when we got home we were dead tired.
"Dean." Cas said when i walked to our bedroom. "Thank you. For loving me. Thank you for being you." he said and i hugged him. We were engaged from six hours and i already feel like we are married.
"I love you Cas." i simply said.
"I love you too Dean." he whispered in my ear when we got in bed. His voice was the last thing i heard before falling asleep.
The next morning i woke up without feeling the warm body next to me. I stretched and sat in the bed just to see Cas walking around our room. He was holding a picture.
"Good morning Cas." i smiled and got out of bed to kiss him.
"Good morning." he answered and i peeked to see what was he looking at. It was the picture i took of him on the beach. The one where hia wings and halo could be seen.
"Do you miss it?" i could see a smile forming.
"I'd lie if i say i dont, but it was worth losing my Grace for you. Yes, i miss it but if i choose to keep it, i wouldnt be standing here, next to the person i love, with an engagement ring on my finger."
I just hugged him resting my chin on his shoulder. He moved a bit and took a picture of us with the camera i had on my drawer.
"Look at us. I never thought i'd be here, doing this now. I thought...." he interrupted me with a kiss.
"But you are here now. Ans you have me." he said smiling against my lips. I kissed him again and when he pulled away, i took the camera from him and snapped a picture. The flash surprised him but he smiled anyway.
"I have an idea." i said and a smile formed on my lips. "Lets go to the beach again, or we could go to the meadow or forest you took me when we met."
"I dont have my wings anymore Dean..." Cas said with a sad voice.
"Nothing to worry about. I'll take Baby from Sammy. He wouldnt mind." Cas just nodded and i left him pack our bags.
Since the meadow was in Europe and we had to travel so long to get there, we decided to have a picnic in the forest. We walked in the woods for like half an hour until we found the perfect rounded flowery meadow. We set the blanket and basket down and sat opposite of each other.
"This is just as beautiful as it was last time were here." Cas said and grinned.
"Yeah i love this forest." i nodded but Cas laughed.
"I wasnt talking about the forest." slowly i realised what he meant and blushed just to hear another laugh from Cas.
"Well...i... Ugh dammit Cas!" i covered my face with both my hands trying to stop the blushing, unsuccessfully.
I had to get my hands busy and started taking out the food from the basket. And in there was an apple pie.
"I have never tried apple pie. I though i should do this now." Said Cas with a soft smile. I cut a piece and put it in a plate handing that to him.
He took a small bite and i saw his whole face light up.
"Wow" was the only thing he said before taking bite after bite unill the whole piece was gone.
"You like it?" I joked as he reached out to get another piece.
"This is delicious. Now i understand why you like this so much."
We ate in silence listening to the soft sound of the birds. I saw a bunch of flowers nearby and an idea popped to my mind. After picking them i started making a flower crown which i put on Cas' head. He smiled and gave me the camera. I took a picture. He looked amazing. Though he no longer had the wings, halo and heavenly light around him, he still looked just as amazing.
"Lets go for a walk." I helped him up and we walked even deeper in the forest. There was some wind, but it didnt bother us. I let Cas walk and stopped turning the camera on a video mode.
"Hey Cas!" I called and laughed as he turned around and the flower crown almost fell of his head. He saw me holding the camera and he smiled. He said something but the sound of the wind drowned his words. He looked so peaceful standing there, waving at me and smiling like nothing in the world mattered more than this moment.
"I love you Cas" i yelled at him and i heard him yell back an 'i love you too'. I turned the camera so i could be in the shot too and ran to Cas. He opened his arms and pulled me for a hug. I kissed him softly and turned to the camera smiling. He did the same and kissed my cheek. He took the camera and stopped recording. Instead he kissed my cheek again and took a picture.
"Look at us" i said. "Im going to cherish these memories till the day i die."
He just hugged me tighter and rested his head on my shoulder as we watched the sun set down and the sky getting darker and darker.
