Guardian Angel

Chapter 12

Cas snapped back to Heaven. He was heart broken. What he said to Dean was the only thing he could do so Dean could forget him. It burned. To say all those bad things to him but Cas had to keep talking and talking. It was just too much.
"Castiel" said a deep voice and Cas turned around and found himself face to face with Raphael. "Raphael" said Cas with a calm tone.
"Where have you been Castiel? You had to be back an hour ago." said Raphael and rised one eyebrow.
"I was making sure Taylor got home safe. Her husband is in Hawaii but there are other-"
"Save that for yourself Castiel. You know i dont like when someone lies to me. I will ask again. Where have you been?" Raphael's voice was deep and angry. The type of voice that can scare the hell out of you. Cas just frowned. He wasnt afraid of Raphael. Not anymore. There was nothing scarier than hurting the people you love, and thats exactly what Cas did. What he told to Dean...the exact same words were echoing in his mind. Cas chased them away and only one thought was left. "There aint no me if there aint no you." Cas closed his eyes and sighed. When he looked back at Raphael all the fear was gone and he was ready to take up what the other angel was going to do to him.
"I went to see Dean. To say goodbye because im not going back on Earth again."
"You know that Winchester is no longer your responsibility and yet you still went to talk to him. Guardian angels arent supposed to reveal themselves! What were you thinking!?" Raphael's anger was hard to control and he hit Castiel's cheek.
"I....had to.... I feel connected to him! He deserved to know!" Cas said after taking a deep breath and rubbing his cheek.
"Connection?" Raphael said and rised his eyebrows as he couldnt believe what he just heard. "Are you telling me that-" he didnt continue. His smirk slowly faded away as he realised what he just heard. "Castiel. What have you done?" Raphael yelled in Cas's face. The yelling wasnt as scary as the deadly spark in his eyes.
"I did what I felt was right," Castiel yelled back. Raphael had so much anger in his voice.
"... Gabriel why don't you take Castiel to the jail and let's see what he'll think in a decade or two." Raphael said softly with the smirk coming onto his face again. Castile's eyes widened, Gabriel appeared snapping his fingers making cuffs go on Castile's wrists. Castiel tried to break the hold with no use, Gabriel put his palm on his forehead bringing him to the jail cell also making him unconscious.

Cas woke up on the cold ground of the cell. He quickly sat up looking around and trying again to break the hold of the bounds, and failing again.
"You do understand why you're in here, right?" He heard a voice and he looked up to see Gabriel on the outside of the cell bars. "It's because you broke the law, betrayed and rebelled against heaven."
"Why is it such a big deal?" Castiel spat.
"What?" Gabriel asked.
"Why is it such big deal seriously... Nothing happened-"
"If nothing happened then why are you here brother, why did you feel the need to switch humans, why have you been so upset?" Gabriel asked. "Angels should not have sex with humans, they lie and manipulate to get what they want."
"But you don't know that."
"I do!" Gabriel yelled. Castiel was surprised.
"How?" Castiel asked. "How do you know that they do that?"
"Because it happened to me."

"Good morning Sam" said Gabriel brushing the hair away from Sam's sleepy face.
"Good morning Gabe. You been here all night?" Sam slowly sat up and streched. His shirt lifted up a bit to reveal the perfect stomach muscles and a belly button. Gabriel couldnt help himself but stare. "Um...yeah, i did. I didnt really mind you know?" Gabriel looked up at Sam's sleepy face. It was so beautiful. Those eyes, the perfect nose, the soft pink lips. Gabriel shaked his head lightly. He couldnt think like that. Not now.
"Yeah, well thanks for staying, Gabe." Sam got out of the bed and went to the bathroom closing the door behind him.

Gabriel sat on the bed again and leaned on to the wall. He was looking at the closed bathroom door and listening to the sound of water running. He was deep in thoughts. He liked Sam. Heck he even felt it was more than liking. He always felt the shiver of joy when Sam pats his shoulder or touch him.
He could feel it. The happiness running through his veins when Sam is arround. But what was he supposed to do? "Sammy might not like me the way i do." he thought to himself. He took out a candy bar and tore off the wrapper. Hell, it was worth a try. He would talk to Sam. No matter what happens. They were friends after all. His thoughts flew by and he noticed the water was turned off.
The door opened and Sam came out with a towel wrapped around his waist. Gabriel's eyes hoovered all over Sam's naked body. The chest muscles, stomach, shoulders, neck line, jaw bone. He saw the tiny drops of water making their way down Sam's skin. Sam looked at Gabe and smiled with the soft puppy-like smile he kept for Gabe only. Gabriel felt butterflies flutter in his stomach. "So thats what love feels like" he said to himself as he got up, eyes not leaving Sam. Sam took a bottle with some sort of a liquid and took a few big sips from it. He did that a few times before turning his attention to Gabriel.
"Sam..." Gabe started but his mouth was so dry. He licked his lips and continued. "I-I think we need to talk..." Gabe stepped closer to Sam and reached to touch the tall man's hand. Sammy let him and Gabe locked their fingers together. "Whats the matter?" Sam frowned and the V wrinkle between his eyebrows was even more visible.
"I have been here 3 years Sammy, there were things about humanity i never knew. You helped me understand them. Sam.... T-Thank you. I..." Gabe closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
"I-I love you Sam." said Gabriel as he opened his eyes and looked right into the tall man's eyes.
Still holding Sam's hand Gabe closed his eyes once again not knowing what to expect. Sammy didnt move an inch. His hand, warm and big, stood still between Gabriel's small hands.
Minutes felt like hours until Sam finally moved. He put his hand on Gabe's cheek cupping it and freed his other hand to trace Gabriel's jawline.
Gabriel felt a shiver and put his hand on the big hand that covered his cheek.
"Sammy? Say something." Gabriel felt the panic in his voice.
Instead of saying anything Sam lowered his face and pressed his lips to Gabriel's
Gabriel let a sigh of relief as he wrapped his arms around Sam's neck and played with his hair.
There was something that bothered Gabriel. The kisses were so soft and so sweet.
Sammy's breath tickled Gabe's neck as Sam lowered his head to kiss him just under his ear, on that soft spot.
He left kisses on his way back to Gabriel's mouth and their lips collided again.
Gabriel's mind was blurry from the temptation and passion in the kiss.
He could taste the alcohol in Sam's breath. And then he understood what the bottle that sam drank from contained.
He didnt care though. He gave in to Sam as he felt the big hands leaving warm trails on his bare skin.....

Sam rolled off Gabe and laid next to him. Both men sweaty and breathing heavily.
Sam's mind was blurred out from the alcohol but he took another sip anyway.
Soon after the bottle was empty Gabe heard the soft snores which showed that Sam was asleep.
Gabriel felt happy. At first he was afraid that Sam doesnt want him but now? He doesnt know what to say. He was happy. He broke the law but he didnt care. He loved Sam and thats the only thing that mattered. He took another bottle and drank the liquid. The taste was sweet and it burned his throat, in a good way.
He left his mind wander as he closed his eyes and fell asleep.Something he didnt expect to happen. Looks like Alcohol had this effect on angels.
The next morning Gabriel opened his eyes.
He turned around and threw his arm in the air to hug Sammy. "Good morn-" his arm fell on the empty sheets next to him.
He quickly jerked up and he was already wide awake.
"Sammy?" he called. No answer.
He noticed a piece of paper on the bedside table and qickly took it.
With shaky hands he opened it just to see words written on it with Sam's beautiful handwriting.
"Im sorry Gabriel. Last night wasnt supposed to happen, we all make mistakes, dont we? Im really sorry but i had to leave. What we did last night....was not right. I want to start a normal life. On my own. Dont look for me. Sam"
Gabriel left the note fall off his hands. He couldnt think. He knew something was going to happen. As much as he enjoyed the night with Sam he knew it would end. But he never expected it to end this way.
There was this strange feeling inside him. But he couldnt say what was it.
He was upset? He felt betrayed?
No, he felt regret.
Because he had to listen to Michael.
He had to understand that trusting humans is dangerous. Thag humans lie and manipulate.
Just like Sam Winchester did. He lied and manipulated Gabriel.
Gabe just put his clothes on and snapped himself to heaven.

"And that, my little brother, is how i know." said Gabriel with a sigh. "I hoped you would listen to me and not make the same mistake as i did, but its too late now."
"Im sorry, I-I had no idea, Gabriel" softly said Cas. Just as he was about to say something else, Raphael entered the room.
"Castiel. I wanted to see how you are settling in." Raphael grinned and stepped closer to the jail room Cas was in. "Also,i came to tell you that I myself will take care of Winchester. Your bond is way too powerful and needs to be destroyed." and without waiting for Cas to say something, all the angels left the room leaving Cas alone. He took out Dean's amulet. The one that Sammy gave him when they were kids. Cas took it without Dean noticing. He wanted to have something that will remind him of his beloved. The angel rubbed his thumb on the amulet.
"What have i done" he whispered and a tear fell on his hand.
