Bethany's POV

"Wake up." My mom whispers and shakes me gently to awaken me from my sleep. I mumble words that she probably won't be able to process and turn my face away from her. "Come downstairs." She pats me on the shoulder before exiting my room.

I look over at my alarm clock and it's noon. My head is pounding; is this what a hangover feels like? I push the blankets off of me before going to brush teeth and walking down the stairs.

My mom is sitting on a stool near the island with her usual cup of coffee and newspaper in front of her. I walk over to the cabinet and grab my favorite cup and pour some orange juice inside.

"Sit," my mom orders. She probably woke me up to talk to me.

I sit on the stool opposite hers so we could face eachother.

"Where we're you last night?" She asks and brings her brown coffee mug to her lips.

"I went to a party with Abby and some friends." I honestly tell her.

"After?" She takes off her reading glasses and folds her hands. I can tell she's trying to be calm.

"After what?"

"Where'd you go after?"

"I was with Abby at-" she slaps her hand on the marble counter top and it makes me jump.

"Goddammit Bethany! Don't you dare lie to me. Abby called last night asking if you were alright because you left the party so soon."

She tries to keep her yelling down to a minimum. She fails.

The loudness makes my head pound.

I let out a deep breath. "I left the party early. that's all." I leave the part out about Harry. She starts to laugh and she gets up from her stool to out her mug into the sink.

"You know, This isn't how I raised you. I didn't raise you to go out and party! I didn't raise you to come home at almost one in the morning drunk! I raised you to he a proper young lady and get a good education." Her back is facing me.

"Now get dressed. Abby wants to help you catch up with school work. She's at the library be home by dinner."

I don't respond but instead I get up and walk towards the stairs to get ready. I put on Jean shorts with a light blue tank top and slip on my white flip flops.

After I finish getting dressed, I walk back downstairs and my mother is standing at the end of the hall near the door. She holds out my phone in her hand.

"Don't make me regret this." She places my iPhone into my hand and goes to walk away.

"Mom?" I call after her and she turns back around to look at me. "You want me to be someone I'm not." And with that I open the door and leave the house.

This will be the first time I'm driving my new car. I slide in and put the keys Into the ignition and slowly drive out of the driveway.

Harry's POV

"No." I tell my annoying stepsister for the hundredth time.

"Stop being such an asshole all of the damn time!" She wines.

"It's my specialty." I joke around and she groans loudly.

"Forget it, I'll just ask if she could drive me." She goes to walk away. She?

"Who?" I look back at her.

"Bethany. I'll see if she can pick me up since you're being a jerk." I shut off the television and get off of the couch. I feel like I haven't left that position since I got here two hours ago.
