Chapter 29: The Despair Maker

Hi! I know this is kind of a short chapter. But only one thing really happens in it, and it's pretty major. I've been planning this for a very long time. Like, since chapter ten or something. So i'm pretty excited that I can write it down now.

And two chapters in one day!? I feel so generous. Even though it's like midnight here, I couldn't resist writing the chapter I'd been waiting so long to write. It's small, but good things come in small packages, right? Right? No ... okay ...

Anyways, the dedication for this chapter goes to dadricprince848 for their wonderfully amazing comment, "Awwweee cooooommmmeeeee on i was really getting into that. It was so interesting and having a pov by both percy annnnnnddddd poseidon is just AMAZING. I cant believe how amazing this story is and how good you are. Do you seriously doubt this story in the wattys because i don't, and neither do absolutely every one of your readers. I know you have heard this over and over before, but it cant really get old when you are non stop giving us cliff hangers and amazing literature. This is the best, i repeat, best percy jackson/ chaos cross over in all of chaos' WORLDS

I don't know about anyone else but when i read, i can kinda picture it all in my head, as if it really is the movie, i do it with all of rick riordans books, and have found myself doing it with this one.
I have to correct my self all the time at school for saying i was watching or in the movie, when i meant when i was reading or in the books/your story. It is that good and detailed i can picture your work and it just 'flows'

Chapter 29: The Despair Maker - Percy's POV

The gods exchanged a look that I really didn't like. It almost looked like they were ... scared. Anything that could scare a god, I didn't want to meet.

'What is it?' I demanded. 'What made that sound?'

'A creature,' Zeus mumbled. 'But I thought it was just a myth.'

'Yeah, well, the gods are supposed to be myths too.'

Hades shot me an exasperated look, 'Yes, but this monster is a legend even among the gods. A monster so fearsome, it could freeze a man in their tracks.'

'What creature could do that?' Annabeth said softly.

Poseidon shivered, 'The monster is called the Apelpisía Káno̱n.'

'The Despair Maker,' I whispered.

Zeus nodded, 'The legend says that the Despair Maker can reach into your mind to find your worst nightmares and bring them to life. It taunts you and mocks you until you've lost the will to live.'
