Something about this guy made Aki's skin crawl.

The air grew cold as Aki stared at the guy's face. Tension escalating, Aki's muscles contracted as she readied herself for offense. The only lightbulb in the expanse flickered and the room was enveloped in darkness.

Aki attacked. With red blazing eyes, she darted towards her bag. Seeing through the blanket of darkness, she saw how he immediately reacted to counter her.

Sparks flew as Aki's kunai knife met with his blade—pulled out of nowhere. Aki narrowed her eyes.

Both stood still as their blades clashed, equal in power. Aki couldn't help but gasp as she examined her opponents blade through red orbs. Branching sky blue lights interweaved on the blade—and it only meant one thing.

This blade was part chakra—or at least, controlled with chakra.

Surprised, Aki pushed back her blade and jumped away. The light bulb flickered open. Aki couldn't help but gasp as her eyes landed on the blade.

It was pure black metal. It ran down from the dude's fingers to his elbow. Small wisps of white danced on the surface as he moved it.

"Intel was right." The guy spoke, breaking the silence of the night.

"Intel? What intel?" Aki growled, brandishing another kunai.

The lad ignored her. A static noise caught Aki's ears.

The guy spoke to the intercom. "I have him here."

Alarmed, Aki realized she was set up. But what for? It seemed stupid to rob a kid like her and lure her just because. Either way, Aki had to figure out a way to retrieve her bag before back-up arrives for her opponent.

Bringing her hands together for signs, she made two shadow clones. Each ran towards the lad, a kunai in one hand. As for Aki, she performed several other hand signs for a fireball jutsu.

It was a simple decoy.

However, her opponent seems to have seen through her ploy. The guy was quick to dispatch both clones and jumped to avoid the fireball. But, that was enough time for Aki to travel to her opponent's shadows.

Emerging from behind him, Aki kicked his back. The force drove the lad to the other side of the room, hitting the wall. The building shook, dust covering the expanse.

But the dude remained unfazed.

As the dust subsided, he dusted his clothes with big pats—as if taunting. The lad dropped the black bag to his side.

The light bulb flickered off.

In a split second, he was already in front of Aki. He brought down his blade. Aki blocked it with her kunai and sparks flew. Their blades clashed, again and again. Blocking and attacking, Aki found her hands full.

The lad didn't give her time to form hand signs.

From above their heads, the light bulb continued to flicker on and off. And Aki tried to use those to her advantage with her Sharingan. However, it proved useless as her opponent seemed to have his own way of seeing through the blanket of darkness.

Finally, Aki used a chakra infused punch to send the lad a couple of feet away. Aki's knuckles bled for her fist had connected to the other's blade.

Again, their battle came at a standstill. The only gain however, was that Aki's back sat just a few feet away to her south—away from the lad. Aki quickly formed hand signs, the moment the lad moved towards her.
