When I woke up, I heard music playing in the living room.
I stood up out of my bed, and listened to the music. I realised it was Ocean eyes, the song I showed Connor, because it reminded me of his eyes and of him.

I walked to the door, and opened it silently.
I looked into the livingroom, and I saw Connor.
I saw Connor in the corner of the couch, he was cuddling his own legs.
I walked up to him, and immediately saw something was wrong. Something was very wrong.

His eyes were swollen and red from crying, while tears were still streaming over his cheeks. He was shaking and his t-shirt was wet from tears.

"Hey, Connie, what's wrong?" I asked, as nice as I could.
"It's noting" he replied.
"Con, don't lie to me" I said, with tears in my eyes. I hated it to see him like this. I just wanted him to be happy Connor. Connor who was testing scented candles, Connor who was picking out designs for sweaters, Connor who was baking cakes, Connor who was dancing with me.
But this was unhappy Connor.

"Why did you put this song on?" I asked Connor
"Be-be-because, it's not wrong to be who I am."
I immediately understood what he meant. And I understood what was wrong too.

Connor finally accepted himself, as who he was. He accepted himself being in love with me, a boy.
But Connor was still sad.
He was sad about all the people who didn't accept Connor as who he was. And he was sad about the people who didn't accept Connor being in love with me, a boy.
And 2 of those people were his own parents.

I didn't know what to do, but give him a hug. So that's what I did. I hugged him tight, softly kissed his tears from his cheeks.

"Tro?" he asked
"Yes, honey?"
"Can you sing me a song, please?" He asked, still crying.
Ofcourse I could. I decided to sing the song I wrote for him.
"Con, I wrote this song for you. For us. Okay?"
His eyes grew and a smile appeared on his face. "Did you write me a song?" He asked surprised.
"I did. Because I'm in love with you."
His smile grew and the sparkles in his eyes showed up, while he was still crying.

I stood up, coughed and started singing.

We are runnin' so fast
And we never look back
And whatever I lack, you make up
We make a really good team
Though not everyone sees
We got this crazy chemistry
Between us

Jump starting your car 'cause this city's a bore
Buying e-cigarettes at the convenience store
Making new clichés on our own little tour
Let's ride

You don't have to say I love you to say I love you
Forget all the shooting stars and all the silver moons
We've been making shades of purple out of red and blue
Sickeningly sweet like honey, don't need money
All I need is you
All I need is you, you

We try staying up late
But we both are light weights
Yeah we get off our face, too easy
And we take jokes way too far
'Cause sometimes living's too hard
We're like two halves of one heart
We are, we are, we are

You don't have to say I love you to say I love you
Forget all the shooting stars and all the silver moons
We've been making shades of purple out of red and blue
Sickeningly sweet like honey, don't need money
All I need is you
All I need is you, you

We're not a commercial for anyone else
We go out for coffee
And keep it to ourselves
We make little homes out of three star hotels
And I know what you're feeling
'Cause I feel it as well

You don't have to say I love you to say I love you
Forget all the shooting stars and all the silver moons
We've been making shades of purple out of red and blue
Sickeningly sweet like honey, don't need money
All I need is you
All I need is you, you

"Tro, I love you so much." He said when the song was over.
"I love you too, Connor, so so much"
Connor stood up too, and hugged me. We both cried.
We cried because we loved each other.
We cried because people were cruel.
We cried because Connor was finally feeling like he could be himself.
We cried because people were judgemental.
We cried because we knew this would be hard.
We cried because we knew our love for each other would win. And those were happy tears.
