His mouth opened once, but nothing had come out.

‘Cole-‘I whispered but couldn’t finish the sentence before I realized he was quickly walking up to me, throwing his belongings on the ground in a cliché manner.

He picked me up in his arms and placed his soft and seducing lips on mine where they stayed until we were both out of breath.

The kiss had been sweet but passionate, bottom line; it had been everything I’d been missing for the whole time we were apart. All my negative feelings about him were swept away.

His hands felt unusually soft on the bare of my back until I slowly got back to my feet and tried to step away but his hands kept me in place. I looked up to him with wide eyes as he gave me a full heartedly smile. I returned the smile without hesitation.

‘Avery,’ He whispered in his seducing tone. ‘I’ve missed you,’ he said, sounding more worried and concerned than he previously did.

‘I’ve missed you, too.’ I admitted, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear but when it didn’t want to stay and came loose once again, Cole reached out and placed it behind my ear, making sure to leave a trail of his touch along my jaw. I tried to suppress a shiver at the amazing feel of his skin.

‘I’m sorry I haven’t visited you of late; even when you were at hospital. I just couldn’t; I hope you understand. I feel incredibly guilty but it would have made things that much harder. But if I didn’t know you had such amazing people looking after you, I would have come… but you did. And-‘he tried to go on but I raised my hand up in a stopping motion.

‘Cole…I don’t want to hear it. I just want to be here with you, without any worries. I already have to put up with Kimberly’s constant apologies, just please spare me.’ I said it, but by no means did it come off sour.

He closed his eyes and exhaled, just in time for the bell to ring. We pulled apart before anyone could come in and behold the situation.

I walked over and sat at my desk, making sure to look up at him as I did so. He gave me an encouraging smile, leaving me as confused, if not more, than ever.

When the class was finally present and seated, Mr Ford got to the front and drew everyone’s attention.

‘Okay, class; welcome back. New term, new semester, new topic. But the first topic that we will be doing is only a short one, but a necessary one. We will explore the depths of audio and music in movies. We will also talk about how the sound effects influence the way the scene is viewed, etcetera.’ And so he went on.

I silently listened, not to sure how I was to perceive this topic. It sounded alright, not the most exciting thing; but it didn’t really matter, music was music.

I looked beside me where Meghann and Ashton were sitting; after “Mr Ford” had finished talking, of course. ‘Where’s Kiren?’ I asked them in curiosity.

‘Oh, I think he said he wasn’t feeling well so he went back to his room.’ Meghann answered.

‘What was that?’ asked Mr Ford as he stopped at our table with an intense expression. It was as though he was completely oblivious to me.

‘Oh…Kiren was feeling a bit sick so he, uhh, went back to his dorm.’ Meghann repeated, biting on her lip.

Mr Ford’s expression hardened until it looked as though he was completely concerned.

‘Is there a problem?’ I asked.

‘Um, no, I have to duck out for a second, mind the class, Avery.’ He said before exiting the classroom in a scurry.
