Chapter 15

Freedom- ‘It’d still be worth it.’ She smiled.

The Camp.

Those two words made even the nerd’iest of people want to go on high.

We all awoke at the bridge of dawn. The sky outside was still dark and misty. But nobody really cared…we all thought it was worth it.

I don’t think anyone slept at night with the adrenaline running through our veins.

Who would?

There were two giant buses parked outside of campus where we all loaded our suitcases into the outside compartment near the bottom of the bus.

Everyone then loaded the buses as nervous and excited chatter filled the morning air.

It was as though we had forgotten about the fact that it was almost zero degrees.

Luckily Kiren and Meghann were on my bus but that’s where my luck ended. Mr Ford was also on this bus.

Sure, we had sorted it all out but that didn’t mean we were suddenly normal again.

There was still an awkward air. Maybe it was the fact that we had almost kissed.

But I was glad at least that I was Ms Fletcher free.

Mr Parker i could handle.

Music was already blasting through the bus.

Day-o, me say day-o,

Daylight come and we don't wanna go home.

Yeah so, we losin' control,

Turn the lights low 'cause we about to get blown.

Let the club shut down,

We won't go, oh, oh, oh!

Burn it down,

To the flo, oh, oh, oh!

Day-o, me say day-o,

Daylight come and we don't wanna go home.

‘Hey kiddo, long time no see.’ Mr Parker said as he casually walked up the aisle to check everything was alright and then stopped where the three of us were sitting and leaned his arm against our seat.

‘Hi Eri-uhh, Mr Parker.’ I said.

He smirked.

‘Erik’s fine, we’re not at school anymore.’ He kindly smiled.

‘Oh, right.’ I said.

‘So…you guys excited?’ he asked.

‘Yup.’ we all chimed.

‘OK, well good. I’m sure Cole’s getting lonely up front, talk to you guys later.’ He said as he walked away.

We roughly sat in the middle but a bit closer to the front.

Girls gave us envious looks as Erik hadn’t really paid any attention to them.

But nothing was going to ruin this trip. Nothing could.

But I wish I had been right because what happened…I could never forget.

The rest of the bus ride went awesomely.

I couldn’t see Cole, Cole couldn’t see me.

Erik occasionally approached us and had a chat. You could tell he was just as excited.
