I don't want to lose you, but I know we'll never last.
Like salt dissolving into water, we'll both be gone in an instant, leaving behind a bad taste.
Like paper caught in a flame, we'll crash and burn and scatter ashes in our past.
I can't hit the backspace key on us, what had happened will stay that way.
I can't rewrite anything, edit for plot mistakes, change the tone of our story.
What is will be and what was will always be.
