"Do you believe in love? That it's as real as the air we breathe?" He wonders aloud.

"No," she breaths out heavily as if sighing at the same time.

"Why not?"

She frowns. "It's just illogical. Love isn't real. It doesn't happen like in books and movies, you only end up getting hurt."

He wishes she would look at him. Really look. And see past his teasing smiles and cheerful facade to realize that, in fact, he was madly in love..with her.

The tension in the air seems to get ten times thicker. They're lying on the ground of a park and staring into the sky, waiting for the meteor shower.

He wishes he could tell her three simple words, I love you, that aren't really simple at all.

But the words seem to fail him as he just lies on the ground, speechless.
