Once again, I was left alone. But I felt as tired as ever. I was going to get some more rest.

**

I was in the cabin I had dreaded and feared for so long. Corbin’s cabin. It was as dark as ever and just as eerie as I had remembered. And then it happened. I heard the familiarly unnerving sound from outside the Cabin, the sound which meant instant pain. Corbin was coming and there was no way for me to run or hide. I was trapped with only my memories and thoughts to comfort me. He then came in with that smirk which instantly appeared on his face when he saw me. It was a spinechilling and taunting smirk. ‘I’m going to kill you.’ He whispered as he neared me. My body instantly froze as I was left paralysed at his words. He then kneeled by me as I whimpered. He outstretched his hand towards me, but instead of it enclosing around me, it went straight past my body as though I were a ghost. Corbin chuckled loudly as I heard a childish cry from behind. I turned around instantly as my eyes landed on a small girl. She had long blonde hair which seemed neglected. Her face had smeared dirt on it, as though she hadn’t seen the outside or water in a while. And then I knew, it was my minds only conclusion, I was dreaming about Jenna. ‘Jenna?’ I tried to call out. But still, Corbin and who I assumed to be Jenna acted as though I wasn’t there. ‘JENNA!’ I tried to scream. Still nothing. ‘NOOO!’ she screamed as the dream ended and I was yanked forward in my bed.

I was panting like crazy as I couldn’t breathe.

It was just a dream; I kept trying to tell myself. But I just couldn’t believe it; it seemed too real to be anything but reality.

‘Avery?’ a panicky, unexpected voice asked from beside me.

I tried to turn my head and look at the source of the sound but my head was still spinning, my eyes were watering and my ears felt disoriented. My whole body was numb.

‘Avery?’ they asked again as I felt a pair of arms enclose around my shoulders, holding my shaking body relatively steady.

But, somehow, even though my senses weren’t working and I was paralysed, I knew who was beside me. I didn’t know how, but I just knew. It was Kimberly.

‘Kim?’ I asked hoarsely.

‘I’m here, Av. Shh.’ she whispered soothingly as she pushed my hair off of my face before sitting beside me.

My eyes were finally clearing up as I could almost perfectly see the room in which I was in. I was still in the hospital. The light in the room was dull, like an early morning light.

‘What happened? Did you have a bad dream?’ she asked comfortingly.

‘I-I don’t know; it seemed so real.’

‘It’s okay, it was only a dream. Nothing can hurt you now. It’s just me and you in the hospital room. Understand?’ she stroked my hair as I leaned my head against her shoulder.

‘Okay.’ is all I could manage to say.

After a couple of minutes of a comforting silence, I finally spoke again.

‘What time is it?’

‘Uhh,’ she said as she plucked her iPhone out of her pocket and checked the time, ‘6a.m.’

‘Thanks.’

‘No problem.’

‘No, I really mean it; thanks for everything.’ I said.

A small sad smile appeared on her striking but currently pale features. Her mouth twitched as though she were about to say something but changed her mind, ‘Okay, get your rest, come on.’ She said as she got up off my bed.
