Randy sat up on the bed while Annick laid down, her feet rested over his lap.

He had her phone in his hands and she had his.

They were scrolling through each others playlists.

"Randy?" Annick was looking up at him, grinning.

"Annick." He responded.

She giggled.

"Why is Kendrick Lamar here?"

Randy's face turned red and Annick bursted into laughter.

"Do you seriously listen to Kendrick Lamar?"

"You do too!" He argued.

"I know I'm not judging you. I think it's amazing that you listen to him. He's my favorite rapper. Just picturing you I don't know sitting in your car or something, bobbing your head to his music makes me laugh."

He shrugged, continuing to scroll through her playlist.

"You listen to the killers?" He asked, chuckling.

"Yes, yes I do. Now we're even." She said.

There was a long moment of silence.

"Is there anything else you wanted to be besides a music teacher?"

Randy shrugged.

"I sure as hell didn't wanna be in a marching band for the rest of my life. I barely wanted to do it in high school. The only reason I did was cause' my school was cheap and the band was the only musical thing I could get my hands on."

"What can you play?" Annick asked.

"Let's see um...piano, violin, bass guitar, cello, trumpet, drums...oh and the flute."

"Oh my..."

"Yeah...what about you?"

"What?"

"I can tell you have another passion besides law...I can sense it."

"You're weird. And yes I do. I always wanted to be a writer...and a literature teacher."

"Really? Why didn't you major in that?"

Annick shrugged.

"My dad convinced me that it wasn't gonna make me enough. I wanted to make him proud. Besides I really like law school."

"What's your felid?"

"Family and juvenile cases. I'm probably gonna work on divorces and stuff."

"You can still always write a book. Have you ever written one?"

Annick silently shook her head.

Randy could immediately tell she was lying.
