The Point of No Return {sequel to The Arbitrary life of Avery Blake [teacher]}16

Start from the beginning

I seemed to have landed myself in a bush clearing. I walked to where the land disappeared and realized I was now on a cliff. It was only a small one though as the ocean was below, the beach to the side.

I of course knew that Luna Park had to connect with land somewhere; I had heard you could go by car or train but it was just too far. Then how had I managed to get myself back on the beach?

I groaned out loud at my stupidity. Obviously this wasn’t the same beach; if my mind was actually functioning properly, I would connect the dots and look around and realize this beach looked nothing like the one where our hotel room was located.

Great, not only did I loose myself from the group, but now I was probably never going to find anyone I knew. I didn’t know what to do so I descended the miniature hill (cliff).

I stopped when my feet hit the soft, thick, gritty sand. I could feel the sun pulsing down on my bare skin as it was now around noon. Instead of the beach looking beautiful and radiant like it usual did, it seemed to take on a lonely and mysterious role. The usually happy and reassuring sound of the waves coming to shore now took on an eerie echoing sound which brought bumps up my spine. I seemed to be looking at everything through new eyes.

I must have been looking like quite an idiot as I stood there, motionless, eyes coldly wondering the lonely and deserted beach.

‘E-excuse m-me, d-do you know w-what this p-place is called?’ I tried to ask a man who walked past me.

He simply gave a ‘Humph’ before barging past. The nerve of some people, I thought bitterly.

I tried to regain as much of myself as I could before I lead myself around the beach, letting my feet sink into the sand before tugging them back up and continuing with my pointless journey.

After what must have been an hour of wondering, I had finally exhausted myself out and decided to seat myself in the slightly moist sand near the water but not so close that a wave could hit me.

‘Yeah, I guess he is a bit strange…but I guess I just can’t help it Serena.’ Came an unfamiliar voice from my left.

‘Direnc, so you seriously like him, uh Dean that is?’ asked another voice I assumed to be a teenage girls.

‘I guess I can’t help it. He’s is just so-‘ but she stopped mid-sentence.

‘What’s that girl doing there?’ asked the first voice I assumed to be ‘Serena’.

‘Ow, I don’t know. Looks kind of lonely, doesn’t she?’ asked the second voice ‘Derench’ i think she said.

‘HI!’ said the second voice from behind.

I hesitantly turned around to come face-to-feet with two teenage girls.

‘Um, hi.’ I mumbled before turning back around.

‘Are…um, are you OK there?’ one of them asked.

‘Fine.’ I muttered.

‘Direnc, come on, she obviously doesn’t want our help.’

Direnc hesitated at first but then said ‘Oh, well bye.’ before they cautiously walked on. ‘I wonder what she was doing.’ I heard before they were out of earshot.

I was alone once again…like it made a difference truthfully.

…Kimberly is not my sister…she can’t be…it’s not possible…she was a horrible person to me…somebody would have told me…she looks nothing like me…we probably don’t even share the same blood…

I had been trying to keep my mind busy, letting it wonder to anything which would keep it busy but then it all had come out at once.

Kimberly had blonde hair where as I had relatively red hair.

Kimberly had blue eyes where as I had green.

Kimberly was rude, self-centred and obnoxious where as I was the complete opposite.

But even though I kept trying to contradict the issue on hand; it all made sense, it all fit perfectly together. And for some reason, when I had heard the fortune teller, I instantly knew. When I had caught Kimberly’s eyes, it confirmed it even more and then when she spoke, it almost seemed like I always knew.

But then why had Kimberly been such a bitch to me for as long as I’ve known her?

Why had she tried to still my boyfriend?

But what got me the most was why she had lied to me.

After what must have been many hours of contemplating everything that was laid out in front of me, I had been completely oblivious to the sun setting and to the temperature dropping.

I then stood up and let my feet take me away.

I had gotten on top of the rock-pool and stood there motionless, anticipating something, anything; but when nothing happened and the sun had long set, I walked away from the water and found a small, hollow cave-like place where I knew would be the only place even remotely fit for me to lay-low and possibly rest. But I knew sleep was out of the equation, for now at least.

LetMeThink0:
