‘Oooh, faerie floss!’ Meghann squealed as she hooked my arm through hers and we ran to our right where the small faerie floss stall stood. I looked over my shoulder and Kiren beheld a smirk while Ashton shook his head, looking highly amused.
Once the two of us bought four sticks of the bright pink floss, we handed it to Ashton and Kiren before we all eagerly chewed upon it.
‘W’er two n’w?’ Meghann tried to ask.
‘Huh?’ we all asked her before bursting into laughter. She, obviously, did not look impressed. ‘Naw, don’t pout.’ I smirked.
‘I SAID…where to now?’ Meghann’s pout increased.
‘Oh my gosh, is that a fortune teller?’ Ashton asked eagerly as I followed his gaze, looking left. I saw a small’ish booth with a magical orb on a sigh reading Fortune Teller.
Meghann and I exchanged a nervous expression as we had had enough experience with a fortune teller on our own a few months ago.
But it was no scam. Madam Melrose had told me I had a female relative somewhere out there which proved true when Naomi had told me just that. There was also the little thing about Kimberly too but I wasn’t much worried about her right now. I had also found out about Meghann’s past after that little confrontation.
‘So…are you in?’ Kiren asked.
‘I don’t know…me and Meghann have already been to see a fortune teller before…there’s noting new this fortune teller can tell me then the last fortune teller didn’t tell me.
‘Oh, well that doesn’t matter. PLEASE!’ Kiren begged.
‘Yeah, please, please, please!’ Ashton joined in.
‘Fine.’ We both said reluctantly.
Kiren and Ashton smiled eagerly as we walked over to the booth where there were many people waiting outside in a line.
The booth in which the fortune teller sat was basically a tent. The tent was a dull red colour with only three walls –or flaps –as the front was left open, free for everybody to see.
Great.
‘Guys, come on, there’s too many people.’ I tried to object.
‘There’s barely eight people…and half of them are probably with someone else.’ Kiren said.
I muttered an apology under my breath.
I looked up and saw Kiren looking eager than ever for the opportunity to get his fortune read, Meghann was giving a worried look at the tent whilst Ashton was looking intently at Meghann.
I tried to keep the giggle from escaping my mouth.
‘What?’ Meghann asked as she must have realized.
‘N-nothing.’ I lied.
She gave me an unconvinced look before looking away.
‘Avery look, it’s Ms Fletcher.’ Meghann whispered intensely.
I followed her gaze and there, a meter in front of us, stood Kimberly. I was surprised at how long it took us to notice her as we were behind her.
‘I think she will be disappointed with her reading.’ Meghann said a bit louder than necessary.
‘Why’s that?’
‘Well, how do you think she will take being told by a random stranger that she is a complete bitch and nobody likes here?’ she smirked.
