Chapter 13

*Beep, beep, beep.*

The green light flickered on to the coffee pot. The warm welcoming scent of freshly brewed coffee filled the apartment.

Caden grabbed a cup from his cabinet and poured him some coffee. He added some sugar and white chocolate flavored creamer. He didn't like dark or milk chocolate and people claimed it all tasted the same but he could tell the difference. He then put a lid on his cup and left for work.

When he pulled into his parking spot he noticed a car with a bright orange paint job parked next to him. It's overly bright paint stood out over all the black and white cars around it, or over any color really. Well it was certainly different.

Caden locked his car and walked into work. He was exactly on time.

"Morning Caden. Your partner came in early." Daniella told him.

"Good morning." He greeted back.

Caden was listening when she said that his partner came in early, he just chose not to comment. He walked into his office which he forogt to lock from time to time.

The minute he sat down Tammy had walked in with her normal cheery attitude.

"Good morning Caden!" Tammy beamed.

So she was a morning person and Caden was not.. This should be interesting.

"Morning."

She sat down in the chair across from him.

Caden rubbed his eyes tired, his coffee still not taking affect yet.

"What time did you get here?" Caden wondered.

He started up his computer and was waiting for it to load.

"5:00am."

Caden looked at her surprised.

She still smiled.

"I'm an early riser." She admitted.

Caden noded agreeing.

*Was Anderson even here at that time!?* Caden wondered, althought was to tired to say anything further.

His thoughts were interrupted by the ringing of his office phone. The phone was loud and unpleasant to Caden's ears right now. He would say he wanted to wake up more but the loud ringing already woke him up.

Tammy answered even though it was his office. He was actually pretty grateful because he wasn't in a talking mood.

"Palmer!" She answered joyfully.

She was way to much of a morning person. Caden didn't understand how she stayed so awake.

"Yeah he's right here."

He could only figure someone asked about him.

"Copy that sir."

Tammy then hung up the phone.

"Do we have a mission?" Caden already knew the answer he just wanted to see her reaction.

"Yes! I'm actually excited about this."

Tammy said that as if she actually felt good about this job now and as if she didn't before.

That seemed to wake Caden up and for the first time this morning he smiled.

They both readied up and walked outside.

"Let's take my car." Tammy said, pulling out her car keys.
