Set in an alternate universe/timeline where Sonic never met Tails, resulting in Tails finally snapping from the constant bullying and become an insane villain.
After he murdered his bullies and burned down his village, Miles went on to end Eggman's life in a misguided attempt to help Sonic, which Sonic wasn't fond of his nemesis being killed.
Miles has went on to attempt to destroy the world, with Sonic banding some friends together to stop him while protecting people.

You arrive in a city devastated some kind of conflict, but there's no signs it was Eggman's fault.
A deep robotic voice sounds behind you, which you turn around to see a robot that glows green instead of Eggman's usual blue or yellow robot lens......and the head has fox ears as a design....
The robot points its gun at you, about to open fire.....
