In this universe, the Sonic franchise is a series of movies......and all of the characters are actors.
(I'll let you guys decide what their real names are whenever they're off set.)
Sonic is your typical popular celebrity and star actor for the series, also composing some music records with his siblings Sonia and Manic whenever he's not on the big screen.
Tails and Cream are pretty much fresh child actors that gained a popularity ever since the Sonic movies they debuted in.
Amy is of course the main female role for the Sonic movies, spending her other activities doing cooking videos, making guest appearances at charity events and being one of the hostesses for a talk show.
Knuckles is not only popular in his acting role as guardian in the movies, but he made a career of rapping as well, even making random performances on Underground tours.
Robotnik/Eggman's actor may seem like he would be a short tempered man like in the movie, but he's actually a nice guy off stage, mostly having fun with his role and will share some laughs with you on a radio show or podcast.
Shadow is obviously the most famous actor from the series, easily making enough money to rival Sonic in importance to the studio that makes the movies.
Rouge originally was a makeup staff for the movies, but the producer and director realized she fit perfectly in looks and personality to match the character she debuted as, this new popularity even opening her to fashion shows. Rumor has it that the relationship between her and Knuckles' actor is actually real and they may be close to becoming engaged soon.
Silver is kind of on and off in his career, just enjoying any appearances in the movies whenever they come, even if he's low in the popularity. He does have a decent club of fan girls however.
Blaze was an actress that enjoyed her role, but she's disappointed she hasn't been given more appearances lately.
Sally and the other actors of the Freedom Fighters have all been fired when the original spinoff series was cancelled, now all of them never being heard from again.
Tangle and Whisper are additions to the newer spinoff series, gaining huge popularity and people, as well as the creator for their character, wanting them to be part of the main movies.

You see what looks like Silver going into a room somewhere. Maybe he can tell you what's going on?

Home Scenarios
1) You and Sonic are debuting together in the first movie. You decide the movie scene the director has you put in.
2) You, Tails and Knuckles are debuting in the sequel to the first movie.
3) Your debut is with Amy in the next movie.
4) You've been casted for Adventure 1/
5) You, Shadow and Rouge all debut in Sonic Adventure 2 movie.
6) You're part of the Chaotix cast appearing in Heroes
7) You've been cast as a powerful alien enemy for Shadow in his only movie.
8) You were originally part of the reboot movie called Sonic 06, but all of your scenes were cut out to save time. Now ever since Justice League Synder Cut gained good public reputation, you're thinking of convincing the studio to release the full director cut of Sonic 06 and get your acting career back. You call Silver up and plan with him to make a public petition to release the full movie.
9) You make a guest appearance as a character in either Secret of the Rings or The Black Knight
10) You're a new character in Unleashed movie
11) You're a Wisp hybrid that appears with Yacker and other Wisps
12) You make a cameo in Generations
13) You're a new Zeti added to the Deadly Six, now apparently Deadly Seven in this universe's interpretation of Lost World
14) You're the rookie that the Resistance brought in to help in the movie Sonic Forces
15) You debut with Infinite as villains in Forces
16) You and Sage debut in Frontiers movie
17) You're friends with either Whisper or Tangle as you all appear in the IDW spinoff series as new characters. Your character is one of the new heroes alongside Tangle and Whisper.
18) Your character is a partner with Starline and/or Surge, being part of a major arc involving Sonic facing against the doppelgängers. Your character is either meant to be Knuckles' doppelgänger or you're your own villain teamed up with them.
19) You're a potential actor trying to find a movie or series to debut in. You figure the Sonic franchise would be your best option, but the cast is already loaded that there's no way you appearing on it would be possible.
You then look into the franchise and watch the old episodes of the original spinoff series to the movies: Sonic Satam.
The series was popular during it's time and made it through two seasons, but it's 3rd season was cancelled and the actors fired before they disappeared into obscurity.
You decide to pull a bold move and hire five guys (my OCs) to be the crew for a reboot or continuation of Sonic Satam, even putting some money in to buy the rights to the Freedom Fighters, Snively and Naugus from the studio so you can make the show possible again.
Now all that's left to do is find the Freedom Fighters actors.
