"What is it?" He encouraged, gently stroking my face.

I swallowed. "I'm pregnant." I muttered fearfully, my heart standing still in my chest as I spoke the words.

A look of pure shock settled on his face, his eyes widening at the revelation. I bit my lip nervously as I gazed back at him, waiting for him to say something.

"What?" He finally uttered, his voice dripping bewilderment.

I held the positive pregnancy test in front of him to show him. More surprise displayed over his face, his lips parting. He seemed at a loss for words, while my heart threatened to stop with every passing second of him saying nothing.

He licked his lips, inhaling loudly. "Are you... sure?"

My heart beat became more unrhythmic. "I did two tests. They're both positive." My voice was a broken, nervous whisper.

He inhaled once more, stepping closer to me until I could feel his warmth surround me like a comfortable hug. He lifted my shirt enough to expose my slightly protruding abdomen, his thumb gently caressing the soft flesh. My breath caught in my lungs as he did, his eyes locked with my abdomen.

He lifted his gaze to meet mine again, his eyes clouded so I couldn't decipher what was going through his mind. He cleared his throat before speaking. "You're carrying our child?" He asked for confirmation again, and that was when I saw a hint of excitement mixed with disbelief in his hazel eyes.

I nodded, biting my lower lip, unable to form words.

The next second, his strong arms were pulling me in for a hug that instantly calmed my fears and slowed down my anxiously beating heart. I relaxed into his chest as one of his hands wrapped around the back of my head, reassuring me that everything was alright.

He held onto me for a few minutes, before slowly pulling away and meeting my gaze again. His hazel eyes now glittered with glee.

"You're not mad, are you?" I asked softly to be sure.

He snorted slightly. "I'm definitely shocked because I wasn't expecting this, but mad? You're telling me you're carrying a mini you and that's supposed to make me upset? As if."

I teared up as soon as the words left his mouth. "It could be a mini you as well."

He chuckled softly, touching his forehead with mine. "Perhaps. I would love to have a daughter like you, though. We'll raise her to be strong willed and smart like you."

I sniffled. "If it's a boy, I'll teach him not to be a playboy."

He laughed. "We're having an emotional moment here, sunshine."

I giggled through the tears that poured out of my eyes.

"Shhh. Don't cry," he wiped away my tears with his thumb, before my holding my face in both of his hands. "We need to book an appointment for you ASAP."

"Good thing mom's a gynaecologist." I reminded him.

"Hey, yeah," He sighed in relief, before pulling me in for another hug. "You don't worry your head with anything now, okay? Everything's gonna be fine. I'll take care of you and our little one."

I smiled warmly in his embrace, sighing happily. We were going to be a family.

Time flew by fast, and before I knew it, I was eight months pregnant. Blayze took great care of me every single day, making me fall in love with him more and more each day. He patiently dealt with my mood swings and random cravings. While at work, he would call me every hour or so to make sure me and baby were okay. He also made it a habit to come home early every night, no matter how much workload he had. He had proved to be an incredible husband, and I knew that he would make an excellent father to our baby girl.
