"Two is the number that comes after one." Parker said in a baritone voice as they drove back to the house an hour later.  "You and your merry band of Neanderthals."  He then broke into a laughing fit. He stomped his feet against the floor as the scene once again played in his mind.  "You were on fire dad."  Parker was laughing so hard his stomach began to hurt.

"I didn't know you could be so savage."

"I have my moments." Rodger said.

"I can't wait to have kids so I can tell them what a bad ass their grandpa is."

I can wait for you to have kids he thought. Maybe five or ten years. I just wish you could tell the grandkids that I have now. But sadly that does not look like its going to happen.

"And then there was Jubbs." Parker then spoke in a gruff voice. "If you are fond of that pretty face of yours you will." Parker let out another laugh. "Awesome."

"It was but I would have rather him not threaten them." Rodger said. "Things could have gone south pretty quickly if Bode had not had control of his people."

"True." Parker said. "So did you know they were from a trouble teen home."

"I had my suspicions." Rodger said.

"I can't believe Carson's parents were going to try to ship home to some home for troubled teens because he didn't want to live under their rules anymore." Parker shook his head. "Crazy."

"Yes it is." Rodger replied.

"Do you think Carson will be okay?"  He then looked in the rear view mirror at Kenny's car behind them which Carson was in.

"I think he will be fine."  Rodger said.  "He'll just have to stay on his toes for awhile."

"How long?"

Rodger sighed. "Good question." He said flatly.

The phone began to ring and the name Paula Cole appeared on the console. "Its Paula." Parker said wondering why Spencer's wife was calling.

Rodger hit accept and said "Yes, Paula."

"Hi Rodger." She said in a pleasant voice.

"Hi." Rodger said. "Is everything okay."

"Actually that is why I'm calling." Paula said. "To see if everything is alright?"

"Depends on what you mean." Rodger said.

"Is everything okay between Spencer and Parker?" She asked. "Spencer told me he apologized to Parker."

"No, he didn't." Parker said angrily.

"Hi Parker."

"Hi."

"So he didn't call you?"

"Oh he called me." Parker said venomously. "He gave the most disingenuous, insincere, unremorsesful, apology in the history of apologies."

"So you guys didn't work things out."

"No we didn't." Parker said. "If anything he strained our relationship even more."

"He told me you guys patched things up." Paula said with anger in her voice.

"We didn't patch anything up."

"That liar." Paula said. "Spencer get off that game now." She then yelled.

"What!"

"I said get off." Paula said. "I'm taking the Xbox back."

"But you said I could have it back if I apologized."

"But you didn't apologize." Paula yelled.

Get him Paula Parker thought.

"Yes I did." A bewildered Spencer said.

"No, you didn't." Paula said. "I'm talking to Parker and your father right now and they told me you didn't really apologize. Now unhook the Xbox and give it to me right now."

"Paula..."

"I said now, Spencer." Paula then said "I better go."

"Talk to you later."

Rodger disconnected and Parker burst out  laughing again. "This afternoon just keeps getting better and better."
He imagined Spencer in tears begging Paula to return his Xbox but his pleas went unheeded as she carried it off to hide it from again.

Serves him right if she never gives it back to him.

The sound of the phone ring came over the speakers again. This time it was Spencer's name on the console.

"Nope." Rodger said as he decline sending him to voice mail.  "Not in the mood to hear his whiney tantrum."

I don't blame you Parker thought.

The phone rang once again and once again Rodgef sent it to voice-mail. Parker chuckled as he thought about how upset his brother must be.

They soon reached the house where they, Kenny, Miranda, and Cyrus helped move him in the others. The others had went home once they had Cyrus' things packed into the cars.

Carson was in the process of unpacking when Rodger knocked on the door.  "Parker and I are going out to eat." Rodger said. "Are you going to be okay by yourself for a couple of hours."

Kenny who was unpacking a box of books and placing them on a bookshelf said "I'll stay with him until you get back."

"You don't have to." Carson said. "I'll be fine."

"I don't mind." Kenny shrugged.

Carson did not argue with him and said to Rodger. "I'll bring okay."

"Okay." Rodger said. "If you boys do decide to go out just be careful. I'm not one hundred percent convinced that Bode and his people have given up on you as they claimed."

"We will be." Carson said. He thought how he had no desire to leave the house right now. And was not sure if he will be.

"We will back around eight." Rodger said. "Give me a call if you need anything."

"I will." Carson said.

"Be good." Rodger said.

"Yes sir."

"Kenny thanks again." Rodger said.

"No problem." Kenny said.

Rodger walked down to the living room where Parker waited for him.  He asked him if he was ready to which he said yes.  Excitement filled Parker as they walked out. He had feared that their dinner plans had been canceled because of everything that happened.

As they walked out he looked for any cars out of place but did not see any. Maybe Bode and his people have given up. But that doesn't mean Carson's parents won't hire other people to come after.

Perhaps even less reputable people than Bode.

He could not believe how evil they were being towards him. He wondered how long he will have to live in fear of them paying someone to kidnap him and take him to some abusive youth home where they will keep him prisoner until his parents decide to let him go.

He prayed there was a way his did can help him.
