I woke up at 9:00am I got ready then I packed the hair bag.And I waited on Nae.I'm sitting at the breakfast bar on my phone Then Nae comes down the stairs and yells.

Nae:girl I slept so good.
Me:and took so long.
Me:lets go I'm going to be late.
Nae:OK

I got in my car and drove to Compton.I pulled up at Reggies house.

Nae:why are we at Reggie's house?
Me:Britney needs her hair done today.
Nae:I'm walking to my house.
Me:why
Nae:I do not want to deal with Reggie.
Me:ok tell auntie I said hey

I got out and I knocked on the door Reggie mom Tina answered the door.She let us in.

Tina:hey LaLa how are you?
Me:good

Britney was sitting right on the couch watching tv.I sat down and opened my hair bag.

Me:Britney go get a pillow or a chair to sit on.

Tina:She wanted her hair in a ponytail.
Me:ok where the beads at?
Tina:let me get them.

They both came back and I started braiding Britiney hair.

Tina:have you got your prom dress yet?
Me:yeah but i have to find a date.
Tina:I'm sure your going to find a boy.
Me:Thanks Ms. T.
Tina:what are you doing after school.Are you still going to Cosmetology?
Me:yes
Tina:Hows your step dad?
Me:good

I didn't really want to talk about my secretly dysfunctional family.I finished the last few braids.Then I jammed her baby hair down.She gave me my $45.Then I droved to my auntie Fiona house.

I walked to the door and rung the doorbell.Auntie Fiona opened the door.

Fiona:Hey Auntie baby.
Me:Hey auntie Fi.I finally get to see you.
Fiona:I know I gotta stay at work all the time.But I'm on my way to work in a hour.
Me:bummer
Fiona:Hows your family?
Me:good

Reginae walked in.

Nae:Lala
Fiona:I'm about to leave for work be safe no partying Nae.
Nae:ok ma

I hugged auntie Fi before she left.

Nae:lets just sit on the porch and talk.
Me:sounds good.

Nae:when is your family coming back
Me: Thursday.
Nae:we need to hit a party.
Me:That would be fun.
By this time it 1 o'clock in the afternoon.We see Reggie and Jay walk up to the house.

Jay:Hey La?
Me:Hey how are you?
Jay:good ,and you?
Me:I'm great actually.
Jay:Wanna go out to eat,I'm wanna get to know you better.
Me:Yeah but are you going to drop me right back off?
Jay:Yeah I promise.

Nae:I'm going to make sure she's alright.
Me:Nae I think you should go with Reggie you know a casual double date.
Nae:I'm not going nowhere with his goofy ass boy.
Reggie:actually I'm a man.
Nae:If you live him with ya momma no your not.

I grabbed my bags and I got in my car.

Me:where we going?
Jay:downtown.

I drove downtown.Then I parked in a garage.

We walked into California Kitchen.We sat down.

Jay:I got the bill tonight.

We ordered meat lovers pizzas.Then we talked.

Jay:I'm really curious to know you?
Me:why?
Me:Well you knocked on my door in the middle of the night.
Me:I mean whatcha wanna know about?

He smiled at.

Jay:What happened that day?
Me:Well It all started on Friday when I got there I met my step dad father I could tell he didn't like me.I met my step dads sister she was a nice person.But the aunt uncle and my dad mom didn't like me.She asked me if I was adopted.on the second day my sister ditched me for her cousins.So my brother took me out to eat and your talking about attention everyone was staring at me.Because I was black.My brother was the only one that stood up for me.
Jay:where was your dad?
Me:with his cousins.earlier before I met you I was at the family diner and a man told me to to get up and give my chair to him.I yelled at him my dad sister for not being there for me.I bought the last flight
To California.I took a cab and I didn't have anymore money.I just knocked on the door.
Jay:your lil story interesting.
Me:What about you, why are you in Compton?
Jay:My ma lives there .If you wondering why I was in the hills.
Me:Dad lives up there?
Jay:Y..yeah how'd you know?
Me:Unless your a secret millionaire I think I could guess that your dad or somebody lives there.
Jay:Why you in Compton?
Me:why you talking about in Compton,Boy I'm from Compton.After my mom had me she went into law school full time.And my grandma helped raise me.Then my mom found a internship and then somehow she met my step dad.
