A MONTH LATER

I was woken up by the doorbell ringing. I reached ova to touch Zion, but I remembered she had left for work already. I groaned before rolling outta bed. I slid on some of Zion's sweats and pulled my shirt down. I went to the door and looked through the peephole. It was Cam and Lani. I opened the door while yawning.

"Morning..." I said stepping aside and letting them in

"Just getting up??" Lani asked

"Obviously..." I said closing the door

"It's 1 in the afternoon..." she said

"And your point is??" I asked looking at her

I sat on the opposite couch of them while putting my hair in a messy bun.

"Zion told us to bring you some to eat..." Cam said making me smile

"What you bring me??" I asked

"A different thing from 3 different places..." she said

"12 count from Chick-fil-a with extra Polynesian. Pecan Berry Salad from McAlister's. A cinnamon roll from Cinnabon. A smart water and a strawberry sparkling water..." she said sitting everything in front of me on the table

"But you can only drink this if you drink your water first..." Lani said grabbing my sparkling water

I pouted.

"But I—..." I started

"No buts..." she said shaking her head

I looked at Cam.

"Just give her a sip..." Cam said looking at Lani and making me smile

"Are you kidding me??" Lani asked looking

"What harm can a sip do??" Cam asked

"Right..." I said

"If Zion asked, it's Cam's idea..." Lani said handing me the sparkling water

I drank some and gave it back to Lani.

"Now I'm ready to eat..." I said smiling

We sat there and ate while talking.

"So, how pregnant life been??" Lani asked

I slid a chicken nugget into my mouth and chewed it as I thought about my response.

"It's been great, really. Zion has been helping a lot and does a lot for me. I haven't had morning sickness at all which is a blessing. Hormones have been kicking my ass tho. Like I'll get mad at Zion and yell at her. Then the next few minutes I'm crying and apologizing cuz I feel bad. But she helps me calm down so it's good..." I said
"Oh, and these cravings of mine are crazy. As you can see and I'm always sleepy..."

"On the other hand, you're glowing..." Lani said smiling at me

I gave her a smile before eating another chicken nugget.

"When do you find out the gender of the
baby??" Cam asked

"The next doctor visit..." I said

"Are y'all having a gender reveal or y'all just gone let the doctor tell y'all??" Cam asked

"Zion and I really haven't talked much about that..." I said now eating my salad

"If y'all don't want the pressure on y'all we can do the gender reveal for y'all..." Lani said

"I'll talk with Zion about it and we'll get back with y'all on that..." I said and they both nodded

We continued talking when I heard the door knob twisting. We all looked at the door and a key slid in. Cam stood up before the door opened. I saw Zion's shoes.
