And we talked for a while about their cuteness and before we knew it 15 minutes past and Kiren and I were making our way over to the cafeteria after we had to quickly stop by my room and drop everything off.

The weather outside was beautiful. It was a nice, sunny day and I could feel the sun heating my exposed skin. I was hoping to get a tan after being cooped up in the hospital for a month… I was paler than ever.

‘Um Avery…’ Kiren said quietly as his voice portrayed nervousness.

I looked over to him with a confused glare until Cole caught my eye. ‘I think you should go talk to him… you guys need to sort this out.’ He said confidently. I had told Kiren about the days leading up to the incident with Cole and me all to the incident itself. He was supportive as usual.

‘I-I can’t…’ I said nervously, trying to quicken my steps. Kiren grabbed my arm and pulled me to a stop ‘AVERY! Go. Sort. It. Out!’ he said fiercely.

I let out a sigh of defeat before squinting my eyes at Kiren and scrunching my eyebrows. He pushed me into the direction Cole was sitting.

‘I guess I’ll see you later then…’ I said softly before following the direction of Kiren’s gaze.

I took several gutsy deep breaths before dauntlessly quickening my step towards my nightmare.

I stopped short 5 metres as I froze in my tracks. ‘Cole’ I said breathlessly.

Cole bowed his head before hesitantly turning towards me with a pained expression. He stood up abruptly as he took the little amount of steps towards me. His hand went to my cheek as I leaned into his palm. I realized just what I was doing before I took a step back. Cole’s expression turned into a distant one as his hand dropped to its side. ‘I thought you’d never speak to me again…’ he admitted as he regained his composure. ‘I thought I never would either… ‘

‘Y-you know I love you.’ He said the last part in a whisper.

‘I know… and I… I lo-‘ I tried to say as I was cut short by the devil herself.

‘Hi Cole! Avery… you’re here!’ Kimberly a.k.a Ms Fletcher said as she strolled towards us. I gritted my teeth as I bowed my head.

‘What is it Kimberly?’ Cole asked rudely.

She stopped right in between us as she gave Cole a confused glare ‘Am I missing anything Cole?’ she asked.

Cole turned towards her ‘Never you mind…’ he said between gritted teeth.

‘I am sorry?’ she asked, eyebrows furrowed.

I tried to take deep breaths as my head stayed down. ‘Look, never mind. How are you feeling Avery?’ she asked, sounding genuinely concerned. ‘F-fine.’ I whispered.

‘Look Avery… we ended on uncertain terms… and I’m sorry. And I am also sorry you had to witness me and Cole…’ she trailed off.

‘No…no, it was all you Kimberly. I am sorry to say… or well I’m not sorry but you are the one who happened to put me in such a horridly awkward situation.’ Cole’s British accent made my ears tingle as his words made me breathless.

‘Excuse me? Is there something I am missing between the two of you? Something that is certainly not professional or legal at that rate?’ at those words I looked up at her and gave her a deathly glare. ‘Of course not Ms Fletcher. I do not know what you are hinting at but I’m sure it surely is not in the right mind.’

‘Listen to me Avery! I remembered what you called me that day… and I am not happy about it. I could so easily report you… and it’d be your wrong doing!’ she yelled.

‘Just fuck off!’ I shouted at her before turning away and running away. ‘This is not over!’ she yelled behind me.

I stopped at the beautiful, frangipani wall I had so many fond memories at as I burst into tears.

Then, out of nowhere, I felt strong, muscular arms take me into an embrace. I put my head into Cole’s chest and cried out all my tears.

When my tears finally stopped, a distant thought made its way over to my head. I jumped back and turned towards him ‘Oh my god! I just realized something!’ I screamed, going into over-happy-drive. Cole developed an amused look to his face ‘Yes…’ he said, dragging it out.

‘You’re not in jail! Oh my god!’ I screamed as I leapt onto him and he took me into an embrace.

He chuckled as his hands rubbed my back ‘I know…’ he said it as it was the most obvious think in the world.

‘How?’ I whispered.

‘I will have to tell you the story… but another time alright?’ he whispered back.

I nodded into the embrace.

‘Avery… look where we are.’ He said gently.

‘W-what about it?’ I asked confused.

‘This is where we had our first kiss.’ He said simply as I looked up, taking in his words.

I looked at his lips as he did mine before we slowly inched closer until our lips met. I missed the sweet taste of him and the softness of his lips, the way his lip moved, and the feel of his hair as my hands went into it. As for his hands went to my waist and brought me closer as my back hit the wall.

Almost immediately, I forgot about our fight… right now, it seemed like it was the most stupidest, indiscreet thing on the planet.

I could die in his arms and truly not care…
