Chapter 36.1: The Enchanting Encounter

Her eyes slightly widened and her lips slightly parted. Zenrie-chan exhaled slowly and finally turned her gaze full to me.

"You want to see her?" I couldn't believe my eyes when she asked this. "I have to remind you that she doesn't like small talks and very busy to fulfill her duties."

"May gusto lang akong malaman sa kanya at itanong. Hindi naman 'yon nakakabigay ng bagot sa kanya."

"If that's what you want, I'll take a picture from the book as a guide to help you," malumanay niyang saad at bahagyang ngumiti.

Mistulang nagningning ang aking mga mata nang pumayag na siyang tulungan ako. Just because of this happiness, I didn't notice I embrace her for such excitement. I need to find answers and interpretation of that dream.

"Thank you, Zenrie-chan," I said with a smile on my face.

"Jairus...anong ginagawa mo?" Agad akong humiwalay at tila sinampal ng malamig na hangin nang makita ang reaksyon niya.

Her usual cold and stoic face when she's facing a monster in battle: narrowed brows, squinting eyes, and curled lips. Kapag itinaas niya ang kamay niya, siguradong delikado na. I almost forgot that she's having a high defense when it comes to physical touch.

"Nadala lang ako," I said and chuckled nervously.

"Maghanda ka na. We have to spar after the meal." Then, she turned away and proceeds to the kitchen, while I was groaning in a slight heaviness and pain on my shoulder. Other than that, I could actually hear her small chuckle...the chuckle with a hint of relief in her tone.

Now, what was going on?

That lady. Parang hindi pa rin yata natatanggal ang galit niya sa'kin dahil sa kasalanan ko dati. Geez, Zenrie-chan. You're still the creepiest top rank player I ever met especially during the battle.

Yet, I can't wait to know more about that dream and resolve those incomplete puzzles.

What's with his agenda of being curious about that Blue-eyed Maiden? That was the other nickname they gave to me as Black Navillerian Angelus and I keep hearing that when we are having a meeting.

I can't think straight when he shared me his dream. That scenario happened before when I turned into this. It's strange. How could he have that dream when the story of this virtual world doesn't reach in that part yet?

Night Black Phaser and Scarlet-eyed Archangel aren't here in the virtual world yet. I still wonder if I could accompany some NPCs whenever the story goes on.

But if they're users with Navillerian powers like I have, that will be a crucial thing. It's not just their life in schooling will be affected, but there are now tendencies that they will face the same fate as mine-to hide their alter-egos in the eyes of the public and wear their mask.

But in my case, I still have to conceal my virtual identity as the top rank player at the same time.

I never thought that this mission is getting hard like this. How much more if the next academic year is about to start? This is going to be a tough job for me.
